The Writ 2017
Billy Gibbons gives his first address to #BCpoli Cascadians via our YouTube channel, “BC Cascadia North.” Please subscribe and share, this will be a significant media for us to share news, views and #CascadiaParty developments!
BC has no poverty reduction plan We have one of the highest poverty rates in Canada, yet we are now the only province left with no poverty reduction plan! Why does BC need a plan? Despite being one of the wealthiest provinces in the country, 9.9% of the population, that’s 451,000 British Columbians, live in poverty. Using the Market Basket Measure, which is a poverty line that reflects the actual cost of living, 13.3% of British Columbians live in poverty. BC’s child poverty rate is 1 in 5 (more in First Call’s Child Poverty Report Card) Most poor people are working, and about a third of BC’s poor children live in families where at least one parent has a full-time job In March 2015, nearly 100,000 people in BC used food banks, and almost a third of them were children. Poverty reduction is a sound investment for our province. BC is the only province that has not made a commitment to creating a poverty reduction strategy, despite a vocal nongovernmental sector that has been calling for change for a long time. British Columbia has high income inequality, low minimum wages and social assistance supports, and long waitlists for childcare and health services. The housing market is becoming increasingly more expensive and unattainable for people living in poverty. Something needs to be done. http://bcpovertyreduction.ca/learn-more/poverty-reduction-in-canada/
"Carr told industry contractors that peaceful dissent would be allowed. But if Canadians break the law then they will face the Canadian military, among other forces."
Ending the Drug War
Comments on how International drug laws and the so-called war on drugs go beyond hypocritical failures into crimes against nature/humanity. "A person's right of self-determination, being sovereign, takes precedence even over his own good."* The prevailing Cascadian recommendation is to legalize drugs like any other commodity, providing them through hospitals/health clinics/dispensaries/vendors, thus removing the prohibition and the profit motive (via the regulated market), with improved safety/testing regulations, legitimate employment, and incorporated harm reduction. Those harmed or those demonstrating addictive/destructive behaviour should be provided medical rehabilitation (respecting cultural differences in the approaches to medicine) and occupational therapy on a scale of intervention as necessary to ensure adherence to sobriety targets for harmful drugs and the return of a productive member to the community. Should one fail to reintegrate into the community, recovery camps, with long-term members if necessary, should be available and implemented. In this way, we would see the end of addiction to harmful drugs and eliminate acts of crime undertaken to fund addiction. *Feinberg https://www.facebook.com/kirk.tousaw/posts/10154465712802838 /c

Classic “Publicize the debt, Privatize the profit.” How much more can the Liberals take from the taxpayers, with no environmental oversight?
