@beaenkes
the thing that strikes me about this latest wave of anti-trans hate and legislation in the U.S. is that it feels like it's *kind of* about trans people but really about a fear fundamental to all conservatives that a day will one day come when they will no longer be able to completely control their children
Pro-Capitalist’s defense of capitalism is just explaining how it works, and then when you say “yes I know, I just think it shouldn’t be like that” they explain it to you again but angrier this time
They say “It’s fair because the people who own capital earn all the rewards” and then you say “I dont think owning capital entitles you to all the profits” and then their brain short circuits
“He invested capital”
“Yes and then a thousand other people did work while he sat around and profited.”
“But… he invested capital….”
““““President Trump”“““
I posted this on August 06, 2015.
It was a joke. Something I thought would never, ever, ever actually come to pass, the sound of the words themselves was laughable. I made a silly post. ‘Ha ha, President Fart’. Unbelievable.
That was my reaction to the early rise of an egomaniac. I’ve learned a lot since then. I didn’t think he could be nominee. I didn’t think he could win. I have spent 4 years terrified of the violence that could be unleashed every second.
I know now that you can’t dismiss the worst case scenario. It can happen. People will let it happen.
Things do not inherently get better over time.
Do not ever give them an inch.
kickstarter to just fucking smack every person who is going on about free speech and silencing and censoring and whatever about a fucking fascist no longer being allowed to spread fascism on social media
radical republicans think politics is a sports game where everyone fights for their own team and tries to "beat" "everyone else" because theyre genuinely all sociopaths on some level and they neurologically cannot grasp that other people aren't universally scheming sadistic maniacs like they are
like, they dont care about the history of the confederate flag. they dont fucking care. they are happy to warp it to their ends because they think EVERY other human being is a lying genocidal freak like they are and facts exist at will to serve their plots.
the fact that they liken their leader to a chessmaster illustrates that they view their countrymen as pawns in a tiny rigid game and they cannot understand that some people actually want to protect and uplift humankind as a whole
it's a primal running-around-in-the-woods-fucking-and-eating animalistic mindset they cannot step outside of for an instant because they think everyone else is a dumb selfish destructive animal inside like they are
i'm genuinely fucking revolted by them
“Gender is a shell game. What is a man? Whatever a woman isn’t. What is a woman? Whatever a man is not. Tap on it and it’s hollow. Look under the shells: it’s not there”
— Naomi Alderman, The Power (via sonnywortzik)
Men are always trying to look at pictures of women’s feet, but they never seem interested in pictures of women’s feats
Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this but fuck that! - John Boyega
people who say history will frown upon racists clearly don’t understand the kind of alternate history that is taught by racists to vindicate them in hindsight. they view themselves as the heroes and they always will
The stories of women in my family who were forced into lives they didn’t want and didn’t utilize their passions breaks my heart. My grandma wanted to be a journalist and write about the injustices she saw inflicted on disabled ppl while she was volunteering at a state run institution as a teen. Her father decided that she was “too fat and stupid” for college and forced her to get married at 17 or else he’d make her homeless. As a kid she told me that she wished people believed that she had meaningful opinions on events around her. One of my great grandmothers wanted to be an artist but was pressured into marrying a man who beat her. She stayed up late each night when her children were in bed writing poetry and pasting it over elaborate collages she mad herself. We still have stacks of these notebooks she created but was never allowed to do anything with. My mother wanted to be an operatic singer and was considered a musical prodigy in her town because she taught herself three seperate instruments by 13. When she was 18 she met my then 30 year old father who emotionally manipulated her into giving up her dreams to start a family with him. As a kid I would hear her up at night playing the violin or doing vocal exercises until she became too depressed to practice anymore. Like idk y’all there’s a quiet type of violence in the way women’s talents are devalued and brushed aside in favor of bullying them into “traditional” roles that ultimately don’t fulfill what they wanted for their lives. We’ve lost so much art, music, writing, science, and happiness to misogyny.
“duhh buhh being racist is godlike” if god was real and worth worshipping why havent you been torn apart by feral dogs
yknow most fascists arent christian they’re “believers in God”?
doesn’t that make every bit of sense? “my religion is AUTHORITY UND NATUREL ORDER IN DIE RECHSTSENSTEIGENGSH” fucking machiavellian psychopaths begging for a bullet
ok sorry for post length bloat but exactly right though, it’s not even like, you trying to float a bit of sense in a shitpost. You’re just right. Fascism is characterized by being like… one of the more extreme forms of right-wing ideology which is defined as decision-making based on hierarchies. Which is opposed to left-wing ideologies which are defined as decision-making based on collectives, egalitarianism, one body one vote, democratic processes.
This isnt even like, opinion about right wing or left wing either, there’s no quibbling about ‘oh the meanings of the terms have changed’ because they haven’t. it’s just political fact, dating back from 1789 where the French National Assembly began drafting their Constitution and was determining how much power King Louis XVI should have– with the royalist faction gathering to the right of the room and anti-royalist revolutionaries gathering to the left. Monarchy is, of course, the most direct form of mass decision-making (aka: politics) based on hierarchies.
But in the modern day, fascism has some advantages as a political system for the right wing over monarchy. For example, it is more resistant to the monarch dying, there is more control over who inherits absolute power and authority after such an event, and because it feigns participation of all members at all strata of society it is more difficult to overthrow from within. (like. fewer ‘peasant uprisings’, etc.) But it is still to the extreme right wing, where hierarchy is everything. And that, before any actual spiritual customs, is what fascists believe in.
before any spiritual customs or actual truth
they hold themselves as our natural owners and seek rhetoric to support that conclusion and discard any that doesn’t
give no mercy to fascists, they have none for you
