— GRAVITY NEVER WANTED ME // t.s. (07.08.17)
I didn’t just burn the bridge that leads to my abusive parents, I atomic bombed it.
coming to terms with it
Signs your parent may be narcissistic
#6 - The parent consistently minimizes or denies the reality of your feelings: saying things like “You don’t really feel that way” or “It’s not that bad”, or even outright ignoring expressions of feeling.
If you have a parent who is a narcissist, they are (and will always be) incapable of loving anyone but themselves. In their mind, they are the center around which the universe revolves. Other people are there to be used, and their feelings don’t matter.
You will be trapped in their toxic system as long as you give them power over you, and seeking to earn their love will only enslave you to them.
Find freedom by accepting that they will never be capable of giving the love and acceptance you need. Embrace this truth, cut off contact, and begin to find healing.
The problem was never that you weren’t good enough to be loved. THEY were never good enough to love you.
It’s really important to remember that drawing boundaries with abusers is self-love. 💙
These are some of the traits you can find on a NP.
These all feel impossible and fake but I guess we’re attempting recovery in 2019
I think it’s really something that my mother loves making fun of me for my “childish” interests but never stopped to think that maybe it’s because she robbed me of a happy childhood?
