and iâm standing there saying, âno officer, i canât help you because no, i havenât seen his penis.â and then boom! heâs buried in an unmarked grave. â â i am not a successful adult! i donât eat vegetables and/or take care of myself! â â i was put in an awkward situation and i reacted poorly. â â iâm gonna hit your ass with a ski. â â you realize i say âgoodnightâ to you every night and you never say âgoodnightâ back? what is your problem? do you not want me to have a good night? â â iâm a color blind american citizen and i canât do puzzles. â â i want to cover everything up on my body with bubbles. â â how cute am i? â â maybe if we get drunk then magically everything will just happen. â â give me cookie, got you cookie! you gave me cookie, i got you a cookie, man! weâre even! â â shall i compare thee to a summerâs day? no, a summerâs day is not a bitch. â â i like to improvise with my body. iâm a sexual snowflake, each night is a unique experience. â â hahaha. what a dumb idea⊠do it! â â if i had a dollar for everybody i couldnât hang out with because they hated you, iâd be so rich. â â what it be, girl? what you got going on, ma? itâs the freakinâ weekend. â â you canât choose who you love, sometimes they choose you  â â i thought god just didnât give me abs. â â i donât mean to be laughing, but are you okay? â â  pink wine makes me slutty.  â â i just want to listen to taylor swift alone. â â  i will shred myself! i will shred myself in the shredder!  â â  i havenât gotten a non-text message in two years.  â â  the point of dating is just to keep on dating and then never stop. itâs like burning fossil fuels or seeing a therapist.  â â  are you sure youâre okay? youâre walking like a disney witch.  â â  your lifeâs like gossip girl⊠only everyone is old and poor.  â â men suck, remember? â â actually, thatâs not fair. she might be a really nice ho. â â should i add a âwoo-hooâ or is that too bitchy? â â i am a woman. the smartest species of them all. â
CHASE STEINÂ ;;
âIf I have to pay it forward with money, I donât know if I can do that either,â Chase said. Paying her back and paying it forward sounded like the same thing to him. He couldnât afford a coffee - that came with the whole homeless thing anyway, but heâd take a coffee if he was being handed one. Who wouldnât? He nodded at her name. âCharlie.â
That was an okay code name, right? Or was it alias? Did it matter as long as it wasnât a real one?
     hailey toys with the lid of her to-go cup as she watches him offer out his name. something doesnât sit right with her yet she accepts it with a nod, her lips stretching into a small smile in response. â well, charlie, itâs not that kind of thing. pay it forward means that you pass on the kindness, it doesnât have to be about money. old woman with heavy shopping bags, a lost kid, you name it, it can be anything. one small act can change the world, you know? gotta keep passing that on, itâs a good thing. â she, along with the rest of her unit, only want to make this world safer place to live in. â whereâs your parents? â
AARON MILLERÂ ;;
@beaniecop +  ( starter call )
â Eveninâ officer. â Aaron tips his head in respect.  â Didnât expect to see you around these parts. â Thereâs a little glance around the bar, filled mostly with hunters and hunters families.Â
     â iâm just here for a drink, miller. same as you and every other person in this bar, â she mutters as she sits down on a barstool. then again, itâs not like sheâs entirely wanted here. she, after all, turned her back on this life. â what do you want? â
STEVE TREVORÂ ;;
        â LOOK I DONâT WANT TO STEP ON ANY TOES HERE âŠ.. but iâm just doing my job same as you. â he pointed out to the blonde before him brow arching slightly. â if we can just work together for a few days iâll get out of your hair, i mean maybe tell me a secret or two to get on voightâs good side? doesnât seem to like me much. âÂ
ask and you shall receive / @beaniecop
     â i donât know what to tell you, man, â hailey shakes her head. itâs not like sheâs the voight whisperer; she clashes with him just as much as the next guy. more often than not, it seems. she respects the hell out of him and appreciates everything he has done for her, yet... she doesnât agree with some of his methods, and sheâs not exactly quiet on that matter. â i donât recommend you call him a son of a bitch, though. then again, it did get me this job, so... â she smirks, slightly. â look, the intelligence unit isnât exactly the most conventional team youâll ever come across. you just have to play things by ear and keep your head down. thatâs all i can really offer, to be honest. â
ALLISON SHEPARDÂ ;;
@beaniecop liked for a lyric starter
Florence + the Machine â Hunger
âI thought that love was in the drugs but the more I took, the more it took away.â
     â never really seen the logic in that, â hailey squints her eyes as she turns her head in the direction of the brunette. â drugs work on the sole purpose of taking something away, and love is about giving yourself and others something -- i donât see how these two facts line up. â
AMY SANTIAGOâ ;;
    letting out a soft sigh, amy ran her fingers through her brown locks as she locked the door to her squad car. she had a horrible night, resulting in an even more horrible morning, but she wouldnât not go to work, she couldnât. the only reason sheâd not go to work is if she was giving birth or had been shot, even then, sheâd still go to work when shot. she had just entered the building when a woman spoke to her. looking up, amy looked around before nodding in the direction of a spare office âof course detective upton, right this way.â
     â thanks, â hailey nods her appreciation before following the woman through to the other room. â a few months back we got a call in chicago about a series of robberies that shared the same m.o. as a few cases intelligence worked several years ago. last week we caught wind of them reigniting their passion for crime in your neck of the woods. thing is, one of the crew is a lead suspect in an open murder case. any chance you have any more information that could help us catch up to these guys? â Â
CHASE STEINâ ;;
Chase reached out in some confusion, happy for the cup of coffee but wondering what the fuck, why? He didnât look that bad, did he? Or was streetlife starting to take its toll? âUh. Thanks. I canât really pay you back for it, maâam?â
     â not really looking to be paid back, â hailey points out. â look, man. just pay it forward, you know? if you see someone that looks a little down, reach out. thatâs all iâm asking. â she didnât have to help the kid, she knows this, but after working under hank voight for so long sheâs come to learn what kind of man he is, and she can only hope to have that kind of impact at some point in her life. after all, he reached out and changed erinâs life, and erin in turn reached out and changed nadiaâs. she doesnât expect much from this, but small pebbles in a pond, right? â the nameâs hailey, by the way. â
SYLVIE BRETTÂ ;;
Truth was, Sylvie needed this as well. âI figured, after everything thatâs happened lately, we deserved to enjoy ourselves.â Plus, she wasnât going to go out on her own. That would just be depressing. âI donât remember clubs taking this long to get into though.â
     â i like the sound of that, â hailey chuckles. honestly, if it wasnât for the people she now works with she would probably be at home, curled up on her couch nursing a whiskey or three while channel surfing. until recently, she hasnât really allowed herself to relax outside of work. thereâs just too much going on for them to even consider doing so, and now sheâs surrounded by people who are determined to not let that happen. she appreciates it, thatâs for sure. â there was a string of underage drinking and a lot of clubs got fined for it, theyâve probably just gone overboard attempting to avoid that happening again. â though, in reality, hailey knows that most club owners around chicago donât care as long as their revenue doesnât take a hit.
ZIVA DAVIDÂ ;;
   â that is very true. â ziva let out a huff of air, staring down at her paperwork. â i did not think people could be so cruel, but here i am, being proven wrong. again. â
     â how long have you been on the job? â hailey asks, left brow lifting absently. â if you donât mind me asking, how do you deal with it? â
KATE BISHOPÂ ;;
âWell, on the streets thenâŠâ Kate rephrased, âhidden homelessness is a serious issueâŠI can attest to that. Sleeping in your car isnât fun.â Well, she had gone from penthouse to living in her car at one point, so she got it. Maybe she just hadnât wanted to label herself as homeless?
âOf course Iâm right,â Kate replied as she took a sip of her coffee, then sat it down. Picking up the file, she skimmed through it, then went back for a second look. âLook - heâs wearing four hundred dollar shoes. Hailey, that suits bespoke designer, custom hand made too, thatâs at least five-figures.â Someone was showing off. âLook I know rich people. Iâm guessing you all at least googled me before you let me in the door.â Her family background was no secret. âYou donât wear a suit like that to go get a coffee, he was off to something important â do we have his schedual?â
     â i can only imagine. â in fact, she doesnât have to. she has the experience of such a thing. granted, it was one time after a night out during her high school days. too drunk to go home and face the wrath of her father, she had camped out in a friendâs car until the alcohol wore off. it... wasnât pleasant, thatâs for sure. â but the m.o. doesnât match up. this guy was definitely down on his luck, but not enough to put him on the streets. â
     â donât let it go to your head, â hailey quips as she shifts her position to get more comfortable. sheâs been bent over these files for too long, and her body is starting to complain. â someone really pays four hundred for a pair of shoes? thatâs ridiculous. â leaning forward on her elbows, hailey looks at the suit in question. itâs nice -- not exactly haileyâs taste, but nice all the same. â yeah, you were looked into. â the agreement is short and sweet. she figures thereâs no point in lying or working around a fact thatâs obvious. if kate bishop walked into your place of work, youâd for sure try and figure out why, and thatâs exactly what the intelligence unit did. hailey has no qualms with that. â figured as much, and i think so -- two seconds. â getting up, hailey moves to the other side of the room and flicks through the other files there. she can remember seeing a timeline of the person in question somewhere. then -- â here it is. seems like the standard pencil pusher schedule, to be honest. home, work, dinner, mostly more work. it says here he frequents a club called sub 51 -- do you know it? â
â sit still and let me take a look! â ( erin )
hurt prompts // still accepting ;;
     hailey wants to protest, to get the brunette to drop the concern, but the wobble in her steps stops even her from complaining. instead, she rests a hand on a nearby table and uses that to stabilise her movements as she sits down. lifting a hand to her forehead, the blondeâs eyes drift close momentarily in an effort to block out the throbbing headache. itâll pass, she knows this, but for now itâs a problem. she canât concentrate on the case if sheâs too busy fighting the dizziness. â iâm fine, iâm just -- a little light headed. you donât have to fuss. â
JOHN ANDERSONÂ ;;
he had been in the operating room all day in surgery and was just coming back up to the peds ward, with a sandwich. his first food since lunch the day before. when he heard his name he rolled his eyes to himself, at first thinking it was an intern or a nurse that needed him for something. but he was glad that wasnât the case, since it was Hailey. he gave her a quick smile when he looked back and let her catch up. â the one that was found in an alley? â he questioned. â I was going to check in on her after I scarfed this down. â he motioned to the sandwich.Â
     â yeah, thatâs the one, â she nods as she finally gets level with him. the kid has been on her mind all day, eating away at her concentration and conscience until she finally bit the bullet and checked in. â ah, right. sorry, didnât mean to interrupt. â she pauses for a moment, unsure of what she should do with herself in the meantime, eyes glancing at the food in question momentarily, before she points a thumb over her shoulder. â iâll let you have your break, iâll go find coffee or something. just... let me know when youâre heading up, okay? â
