I am very lucky to have such great dogs. Rollei has had quite the life and yet he is such a social and sweet dog. Yesterday made me very proud of him. He has come to the lake with me before, but just to hang out at the campsite. He did so good yesterday and it was so nice to hear the boys say such nice things about him. He is very stranger danger at home, but when we go places he is just generally really easy-going. He did bark at and startle the Parks lady, but I think because he sensed she was not part of our little circle yesterday. He did also bark at a few people that walked past the campsite, but was easy to shush. He is just a very good dog, considering his background from before I got him. I am glad he is part of the family.

Rollei did pretty good at the lake today! He didn't super love being on the board, but he didn't totally hate it. He was just antsy and would rather we adventure on dry land. I left him with some of The Boys (Boyfriend's friends we were there with) for the afternoon and they said he was very well behaved, but was getting antsy, so they walked him down to the edge of the lake just as we were coming in to meet some of the other boys that were just launching and then he was a little upset after that because he wanted to be with me 🥺 But he had a good day! Snoozed hard the whole way home. Barked at the Parks lady and scared her 😅 But he is a good dog. When he was on the board he mostly just wanted to be in my lap and pushed his entire body weight into me with full force, which is a LOT, he is STRONG. He was good tho, it was a beautiful day.

I have gotten into the habit of taking our board and train dog for walks every afternoon, since her owners aren't coming back for her and we are going to try to rehome her ourselves so sbe really doesn't get a ton of attention right now, and yesterday we were rushed by a German Shepherd. Now, as I watched this dog, who was easily 8x the size of our board and train, come barreling toward us my mind went through all the worst case scenarios. I thought, surely, someone was going to get bit/mauled/injured in some way. Except nobody got hurt!! This dog bowled her over and chased for half a second and then was caught by his people. The board and train didn't even flinch. She was entirely unbothered. It was like nothing happened at all. Completely unphased!! This dog, who I have been told will attack other dogs AT RANDOM. Okay. So. I am wondering what the FUCK. I have heavily suspected since before I even met this dog that the issue was resource guarding. And honestly I think I am right. I haven't seen her instigate with anyone and didn't see any of the incidents she has had here, but I so wish I could see it unfold. Dogs don't just randomly attack other dogs. And if she doesn't even CARE when a dog much larger than her literally rushes her and runs her right over then what the fuck is happening when she DOES react and bite???

Anyway, I will be making a post about her at some point here because, like I said, we will be rehoming her. She would make am excellent little sport dog and if I could take her I honestly would.

Some people really out here scrubbing their dog's bowls every single day because "I wouldn't drink out of the same unwashed cup every day," like no, but you also wouldn't lick your own ass now would you.
