Dazai Osamu finds himself as the most powerful man in Japan, the country's very model of excellence. Everything is a means to an end, and if that means taking ownership of a modeling agency with international attentions and billions to its name, so be it. If he sabotages and manipulates and razes the ground under his feet to clear a path to a certain someone, so be it. There's only one small problem. He hasn't actually done a shoot in years.

Nakahara Chuuya is the media's favorite story of building one's name from the dirt, a diamond in the rough or whatever earthen comparison they favored that day. He is also a businessman, Dazai's right hand, and unfortunately very human. As he continues to keep public appearances under the Port Modeling Company, the pressure intensifies to pull the CEO out of hiding and do one last photoshoot together. His main problem? They haven't actually done a photoshoot together in years. And no one seems to pay attention to everyone trying to leave this international sensation for some company that can't hold a candle...including the boss himself?

As the day of their photoshoot draws closer, Dazai draws closer to falling and pulling Chuuya down with him. Neither of them look back.

In the dusk between Yokohama and nowhere, Dazai is coming apart.

Every touch turns colder, every breath tastes sharper, until even the memory of warmth begins to crack.

Chuuya keeps trying to hold what’s left.

But how do you love someone turning to glass?

A Beast Soukoku slow burn where Dazai’s body begins to turn to glass, and Chuuya refuses to stop loving him, even as he cuts himself trying to save someone who can't be saved.

Hurt/comfort, longing, existential decay.

Chuuya died in a laboratory and was reborn as Arahabaki, a non-governmental weapon. His new target is Dazai Osamu, the Port Mafia’s boss. It’s a simple mission, nothing can go wrong. Dazai is just another target, until they meet in the dungeons and something changes. Chuuya feels it in his bones, right at the level of his heart. Dazai possesses the Book and has been waiting for this reunion all his life, all their lives. Can he keep Chuuya by his side this time, or are they doomed to be lost in all the universes? Or — Beast AU where Dazai finds out that one of his other selves cut his bond with Chuuya to save Odasaku. But he’s far too selfish to accept that. He refuses to choose. He’ll save them both no matter the cost. With the Book, he forces fate again and again and again.
