Something that a great therapist once told me is that if you’re freaking out about something that seems small, that’s probably not what you’re actually freaked out by. I had one day of really bad classes last spring and had close to a total meltdown about it. I felt so stupid because /everyone/ has off days this is a /complete overreaction/. and she was like “Well, you weren’t reacting to having a bad day at class, you were thinking about your entire future and how this could affect it so that level of reaction makes complete sense in that context.” and i was like “Oooooh, yeah that makes sense.” Because that /was/ what I was reacting to. It’s all about perspective and context.
