Request: Hey I love your writing and I’ve been dying for some fluff with Vince Dunn! Maybe something along the lines of the reader is having a bad day or just got some bad news and Vince comforts and takes care of them. Idk honestly you can just have fun withit! :)

A/N: this is pretty short, but it’s fluffy and i hope you love it🥰

Warnings: like 1 swear, lil angst at the beginning if you squint

You’ve been feeling off all day, nothing seeming to go right for you. Waking up late for work, spilling your coffee, missing an important deadline, your boss yelling at you. You felt like the world was against you today. And by the time you left work your head was pounding away in your skull and all you wanted to do was cuddle with your boyfriend. You found yourself making your way to his apartment and using the key he gave you a while back to let yourself in.

“Vince?” you called out, not seeing him when you first walked in. You frowned to yourself not hearing him answer, thinking maybe he wasn’t home until you heard his laugh coming from his gaming room. You stood in the doorway watching him for a few seconds, before walking further into the room. He held a smile on his face, still laughing at whatever was being said over the headset, not seeming to notice you standing in front of him. “Vince? Hello?”

You waved your hand over his computer screens hoping he would finally see you. He snapped his head up to look at you quickly before turning his attention back to the game and mumbling a, “Hey babe. What are you doing here?”

You huffed, your shoulders slumping down even further, a bit taken back by his question. Considering he invited you over to have a movie night earlier this week. You felt the tears pooling in your eyes, unable to stop them, the weight of the day finally overcoming you. You knew it was a silly thing to be upset about, maybe he forgot, but after the day you had it felt like a punch in the stomach. You whimpered softly, attempting to hold back the tears as you spoke, “We were supposed to have a movie night?”

“Oh yea.” Vince stuck his tongue out, his concentration face taking over as he played his game and you stared at him hoping for some more enthusiasm.

“I’ll just go wait downstairs.” you mumbled, slowly backing out of the room, making your way to his living room. You knew something would click in Vince's head and he would finish the game soon so you sat on his couch zoning out in front of the tv. Warm tears fully streaming down your face, your lips quivering as you tried to keep quiet. It was only about half an hour later when Vince finally came out of his gaming room to look around for you.

“Baby?” Vince asked softly, moving towards the couch and sitting beside you. He frowned seeing your puffy eyes and the tears wetting your cheeks. “Honey, what’s wrong? I’m sorry I took a while to finish up.”

“It’s fine.” you shrugged your shoulders, sniffling loudly and vince took both your hands in his, the pads of his thumbs softly rubbing your skin as he played with your fingers. Something he did that always seemed to calm you down when you were upset, his warm hands immediately relaxing your body.

“Princess, tell me what else is wrong.” Vince urged, knowing there was more behind your tears. You squeezed your eyes shut letting a few more tears out as you tried to regain your steady breathing.

“It’s stupid.” you shook your head, stuttering the words out.

“Oh c‘mon, you know I always wanna know what’s going on in that pretty head of yours.” Vince assured you, the soft look in his green eyes making your heart flutter just a little bit.

“I don’t know, I just- I had a shit day and then I came here and all I wanted was to be with you, but you were busy and then I started overthinking. About you and everything else.” you rambled, avoiding his eyes, feeling silly you were so upset in the first place.

“Aw, honey, I’m sorry you had a bad day.” Vince cupped your cheeks, wiping the tears and mascara stains from your cheeks. “and I’m sorry I made it even worse. Your feelings aren’t stupid, you have every right to be upset.”

“It’s okay.” you nodded, not wanting to dwell on your bad day or have a pity party. Vince pulled you into his lap, wrapping his arms securely around your frame and holding you tight to his chest. He pressed a few kisses to your forehead and cheeks, grinning when he saw a small smile appear on your face.

“I didn't forget about our movie date by the way, I'm extremely excited for it. We’re gonna cuddle and watch those cliche rom coms you love.” Vince said softly, a toothy smile adorning his face.

“Hey, those movies are good! Clueless is a classic, Vince.” you laughed, immediately starting to feel lighter after this conversation.

Vince rolled his eyes, squeezing your hips playfully, “You just love it because of Paul Rudd.”

“Aw bub, your jealousy is showing.” you grinned up at your boyfriend, placing a chaste kiss to his cheek. “No one could compare to you, I got lucky.”

“I’m the lucky one.” Vince promised, feeling a small blush upon his face. You had butterflies in your stomach at his words and your cheeks felt hot as you took in his words.

You leaned in closer to Vince, capturing his lips in yours both of you melting into the kiss. Vince pulled away, stroking your cheek and laid back on the couch, taking you with him so you were lying directly on top of him. Your head rested on his chest, listening to his heart beat while his fingers were tangled in your hair, lightly massaging your scalp.

“Thanks for making me feel better and for just being you.” you mumbled, finally feeling more relaxed than ever in vince’s arms, your eyes feeling heavy as you focused on vince’s breathing beneath you.

“Of course. That's what I'm here for, baby and I always want you to be feeling your best.” Vince affirmed, leaving a kiss on your head.

“Pass the chocolate Jame,” you said as you nudged Jamie with your foot across the couch. Jamie tossed you the bag of Hershey’s kisses, laughing as he watched you happily rip into one of the wrappers before tossing the chocolate into your mouth. Your eyes were on the screen as you tried to focus on the second romantic comedy Jamie had chosen for the two of you to watch. You glanced back over at Jamie who was still staring at you, he glanced away as soon as your gaze met his. “What?” you asked absentmindedly. Jamie nervously scratched the back of his neck, his eyes avoiding yours.

“Nothing,” he responded quickly before pretending to refocus on the movie. You shook your head and decided to drop it. But as the movie progressed, you felt Jamie’s eyes on you more and more, whenever you would look over at him he would quickly avert his gaze. The tension could be felt throughout the whole room until you couldn’t take it anymore, you felt like you were going to explode.

 “Jamie why are you staring at me?” you yelled suddenly, a little louder than you had intended. His eyes widened as his gaze finally met your own.

 “I was, uh, talking to my sister today,” he said as he nervously cleared his throat. You waved your hand, urging him to continue. “She said something interesting to me when I mentioned we were spending Valentine’s Day together,” he said before turning back to the screen and falling silent once again. Jamie didn’t say anything else for at least a minute, so you gently nudged him with your foot once again.

 “Are you going to elaborate on that or just leave me hanging?” your eyebrows raised as you questioned Jamie.

 “She just…well… she was saying that—” he muttered as his hands came up to rub his temples.

 “Jamie! Spit it out please,” you muttered, the anticipation was killing you at this point.

 “ She said she finds it funny that we’ve been best friends for years and celebrate Valentine’s Day together because we’re always single, but we’re too stupid to realize we’re in love,” the words fell from his mouth so quickly you could barely make out what he said.

 “What?” your face full of confusion as you tried to piece together what Jamie was saying.

 “She thinks we’re in love with each other but we’re too stupid to realize,” he said before letting out an exasperated sigh and running a hand through your hair.

 “I knew she was going to meddle in this!” you shouted as you sat up straighter on the couch. Jamie raised his eyebrows at you and gave you a skeptical look. “I may have told Penny that I might have feelings for you at Christmas, she promised she wouldn’t say anything,” you mumbled as you popped another chocolate into your mouth.

 “You’re kidding?” Jamie let out a laugh. Your eyes narrowed as you glared at him.

 “Is it so ridiculous that I’m in love with you?” you bit back in frustration.

 “No!” he shouted. “It’s just that…well I told her the same thing over Thanksgiving,” Jamie laughed once more as your eyes widened in shock.

 “What?” you let out a shaky breath as Jamie leaned closer to you.

“Is it so ridiculous that I’m in love with you?” he said, teasing you as his nose brushed yours. Instead of talking you decided to take a leap of faith, you leaned in to press your lips against his. Your lips moved in perfect unison before Jamie ran his tongue across your lips. You moaned as his tongue entered your mouth, swirling with yours. Jamie pulled away after a few minutes, panting from the lack of air. “You taste like chocolate,” he smirked. You rolled your eyes before playfully smacking his chest.

“You love it.”

“You’re right, I do,” he said before pushing you back onto the couch and climbing on top of you, connecting your lips once again. Just like that, best friends started on one of the best journey’s either of them would ever experience.

You were just slipping into your black heels when there was a loud knock on door. Your eyes snapped to the door as you took a shaky deep breath to calm yourself. You were a bit nervous to say the say the least, I mean who goes on a first date on Valentine’s day? But when Jamie had asked you out after running into each other multiple times around the American Airlines Centre where you worked as media personnel for the Stars, you couldn’t resist . Especially with his soft eyes and beaming smile as he towered over you, the giant he was. So here you were, nervously about to embark on a first date on Valentine’s day with the gorgeous Dallas Stars defencemen. Your hand shook slightly as you reached for the doorknob, you paused for a second, ‘get it together, you know Jamie’ you thought before turning the doorknob and pulling the door open. Jamie was standing in the hall looking fine as ever, sporting a black button down and dark jeans, you couldn’t help but check him out.

“Hey, you found the place okay?” you asked as you stepped back to let Jamie into your place.

 “Yeah, I actually only live about 10 minutes from here,” his deep voice booming as he answered you. He held out a bouquet of daisies, which you accepted with a smile. “I uh, hope you like them,” he said nervously while scratching the back of his neck.

 “They’re beautiful Jamie, thank you,” you leaned in for a hug and couldn’t help but notice just how muscular his biceps were as he wrapped them around your waist.

 “I remember you mentioning they were your favourite when you mom sent them on your birthday,” he whispered in your ear sending shivers down your spine. Your breath hitched in your throat, you were so shocked that he remembered that. You had only mentioned it in passing when he asked you about the flowers you were holding on your birthday 6 months ago.

 “Wow, I’m um, I’m surprised you remembered that,” you stumbled over your words as you leaned back in Jamie’s arms

 “How could I forget someone like you?” his gaze was intense as he stared into your eyes. You smiled as you stood on your tip toes and pressed your lips to Jamie’s cheek. Sparks shot through your body as his arms tightened around your waist, gently giving you a squeeze.

 “I should put these in water, then we can head out,” you said softly as you hesitantly pulled away from the tall blonde. He followed you into the kitchen as you nervously muttered something about needing to find a vase. You placed the flowers on the counter and walked over the cabinet above your fridge. You rose to your tip toes once again as you extended your arm to reach the vase in the cupboard. Suddenly you felt Jamie’s hot breath on your neck, you glanced over your shoulder as you saw him standing behind you and reaching for the vase. He easily reached it and handed it to you with a smile. “Thank you,” you smiled as you walked over to the kitchen sink to fill the vase with water.

 “Being this tall has it’s perks,” he joked which caused you to let out a light hearted chuckle. Your hands were shaking as you put the daisies in water, nervous silence filling the air. “Can I tell you something?”

 “Yeah, of course,” you nodded as your eyes met Jamie’s once again.

 “I’m super nervous, I don’t normally go on big Valentine’s dates,” he let out a shaky breath as his eyes darted away from yours and to the wall behind you. You set the vase down on the counter and took a few steps towards Jamie. You took his hands in yours and gave them a squeeze, his eyes finally meeting yours once again.

 “I’m so happy you said that,” you laughed.

 “You’re so happy I’m nervous?” he let out a gentle chuckle. You playfully rolled your eyes at the blonde.

 “I’m freaking out too, it’s not every day you go out with a professional hockey player,” you nervously tucked a stray piece of hair behind your ear.

 “It’s not every day that the girl you have a crush on agrees to go out with you on Valentine’s day,” he smirked down at you, making you melt as his eyes locked on yours once again.

 “You have a crush on me huh?” you playfully poked him in the ribs. It was his turn to laugh and roll his eyes. “I have a crush on you too,” you admitted, finally letting out a calm breath.

 “Thank god, you’re way out of my league,” he let out a sigh of relief.

 “Sure,” you chuckled. “Should we head out?” you asked while stepping away from Jamie to grab your purse. Jamie nodded in agreement as you led the way out of your apartment. Maybe a first date on Valentine’s day wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Best way to spend Valentine’s Day with Tito?

For the previous years Tito never really thought much of that day, he lets you know he cares about you all year long and he knows you don’t need much more on Valentine’s day.

It’s usually a nice dinner out, maybe a gift and it ends up being a lovely night for the two of you

With the pandemic and everything going on this year is a little different and Tito knows he wants to do more than just order takeout and get you some flowers

He decides it has to be a romantic day from the second you wake up

He’s always awake before you because he’s used to getting to practice early, so that morning he’s gently tracing lines up and down your spine until you open your eyes

You can see from the light coming through the curtains that it’s still early, but you’re just happy to wake up when you see the way Tito he’s looking at you

He always looks at you like you’re the most wonderful thing in the world and it never fails to make you fall in love with him even more

You start the morning early but you get out of bed late

Tito can’t take his lips off yours and you’re still kissing each other in the shower

It’s all sweet kisses, smiles and laughs as you move around to get ready

Breakfast is a rather quick thing because neither of you wants to waste more of the morning inside

There’s not much to do out but you still get dressed and go out on a walk together

You feel just the same as when your relationship started, you’re holding hands, talking for a bit and then turning silent as you enjoy a peaceful walk in the park

It’s cold so you’re wearing extra layers, but it doesn’t stop Tito’s cheeks from turning bright pink and you think it’s the pretties sight

He catches you staring but doesn’t say anything, he does it a lot too

You cook lunch together when you get home, not much is said about Valentine’s day but you both enjoy the time you’re getting together

You’re busy people most of the time, so taking a whole day off to do nothing but love on each other is something you both love to do

You spend a few hours of the afternoon reading, both of you sitting at separate ends of the couch and extending your legs to tangle them together in the middle

Little by little, Tito shifts himself closer until he’s resting his head in your lap

You close your book then and look down at him with a smile

He smiles back, tilting his head and silently asking for a kiss

You know that a few years ago you would have thought such a sickeningly sweet relationship was impossible, that you’d never be that sappy and gross

Now that you have Tito you’re both happy to be sappy and gross together (and you usually have a lot of fun annoying Mat by clinging to each other even when he’s there)

Tito orders dinner because even if he can’t take you out he still wants it to be a little special

You’ve got nothing to complain about, it’s not the typical Valentine’s Day, you’ve been stuck home together for months now, but you still like it

Getting to live with him, going to sleep next to him and waking up next to him is all you could ever ask for

You end up taking a bath together with one last glass of wine

You put a face mask on him and you end up laughing at each other about how stupid you look like that

When it’s time to take it off, Tito gladly peels it from his face and yours to finally pull you in for a kiss

You laugh and let him drag you closer until your chest is against is and there’s no space left between your bodies

You couldn’t have dreamt of someone better to spend forever with

You weren’t supposed to have fallen for him. You were supposed to just stay friends. When you met him, you knew you could only be friends with him. But talking about books turned into bookstore outings. You growled at yourself. How in the hell could you have done this to yourself? It didn’t matter that he was literally the perfect guy, you weren’t supposed to fall in love at this point of life with anyone. 

Then you felt an arm reach out and pull you close to him. “Overthinking again,” was a sleepy grumble in your ear. “Go to sleep, princess, yell at me in the morning about how you’re not supposed to love me.”

“But I’m not,” you replied with a yawn.

You could feel his smile as he said, “I know but you love me and I love you. Now, please, sleep.”
