listen my Nonna and Nonno live right by a purple house (it’s a nice lilac) and as a kid I was fucking obsessed with it because purple is my favorite color. I’d go nuts whenever we passed by it. Also it had a purple mailbox to match and it blew my mind.

My mother painted our house purple ("lavender grey"), and in the absence of an HOA, the neighbors tried to sue. We caught one of them breaking into our garage, going through our trash looking for paint samples for a lawsuit.

There only thing that finally stopped them was that their leader's child got ill, and my mother (an ER doc) was willing to supply medical advice for free.

I'm just saying, people who want to paint their houses purple are often not nearly as awful as the people who want to keep them from doing so.
