one thing i particularly appreciate about the pitt is that the cast is an ensemble of people who actually look real. they all have different teeth and freckles and lines on their face. and many of them are either working actors who have been hustling it for years and know their shit or working actors that are younger within the industry, have also been hustling, and are finally enjoying the fruits of their labor.

So, for me the story goes like this:

Vessel arrives in Arcadia after he ascended - we're getting ready for battle (Look to Windward). We're entering into a back and forth between Vessel and Sleep and whoever fights on their side (Emergence, etc.) Vessel mourns a lost love, reflects on the past (Gethesmane, Dangerous) almost falls back under Sleep's spell. But, in the end - after luring Sleep in and feigning devotion and loyalty, he eventually manages to win the fight/drowns Sleep (Infinite Baths). Am I entirely wrong? 🤔

it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age

it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.

you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.

young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!

there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big
