One stormy night in October, a girl sits alone in her room with the world at her fingertips. She slowly opens the lid of her laptop and opens up Facebook, where she logs on as Dan Howl. As Dan Howl she finally feels like she belongs, no one knows her true identity and she is free. A notifications pops up in the top right corner, it reads `meet me in the woods at 9!’. Pure panic strikes across her face as she realizes her fantasy is crossing over with reality. Her hands start shaking while her fingers push the keys, she replies ` okay, can’t wait’. She shuts the lid of her laptop and starts pacing her bedroom, the floorboards creak breaking the silence. She repeatedly mumbles `what do I do?’. Suddenly the front door slams, she notices her brother walking down the path, towards the park. Without delay an idea strikes, `maybe I could impersonate him?’. Instantly she heads towards her brother’s room, luckily the door was open. As she approaches the wardrobe, she takes a deep breath wraps her fingers around the wardrobe handle and gently turns it. The door opens with a slight squeak, but effortlessly. The outfit closer to Dan’s personality was a black oversized zip up hoodie, a grey t shirt and a pair of black chinos so they would show her feminine figure, a pair of black skate shoes and a grey beanie so she can hide her long brown hair. Heading back to her room she passes a mirror and comes to a hold on her idea, when she realizes that she has to hide her breasts. Scanning her room for ideas she notices a scarf hanging of her desk chair, she reaches out and wraps her fingers around the soft fabric. With the scarf in her hands she stands and stares at the piece of material in her hands, with the fantasy becoming ever more real. Calmly she makes her way towards her mirror, which is on her wardrobe door. Still clutching this piece of material, she removes her vest top along with her bra, and wraps the scarf around her breasts as tight as she can and ties the material around her back. One by one she places her brothers clothing on, starting with the grey t shirt, next the black chinos, then the oversized hoodie, she pauses takes a breath and looks in the mirror, places her hair into a bun and covers it with the beanie. She glances over at the clock which shows 8:35. She slides her feet in to the shoes and ties the laces, takes one last look in the mirror, with confidence whispers ` I am ready’. Shutting her bedroom door behind her, she sneaks down stairs and out the front door. Dan Howl isn’t just a fantasy but real and finally he is free. With the minutes getting closer and closer to 9 o’clock the nerves start to kick in. As he enters the woods, he takes a deep breath, lifts his head and follows the tracks toward an old rotting picnic table where he can just about make out a black silhouette.
