Keep the Glam On || Hyeji & Dasom
Hyeji eyed the other girl carefully. What was she thinking? She could see that Dasom was lost in her own train of thoughts. The sad look in her face was evident enough to let Hyeji know that she was contemplating about something. Hyeji couldn’t tell. It wasn’t like both of them haven’t shared their personal thoughts and issues in life but most of the time, Dasom chooses not to disclose her insights especially when it’s all about her personal life. Hyeji thought that she should really start paying attention to her dear friend’s sudden self-absorption from time to time. “Dada..” she slipped her arm on hers and leaned her head on her shoulders. “What’s wrong? Come on, tell me…” she told her ardently as she poke her arms with her other hand.
The sound of her friend's voice and she was out of her train of thought once more. All night long, no matter who she danced with and no matter who came up to her and complimented her, all she could think about was him. He really did love dances because he would always brag saying he was an awesome dancer and he'd love to stand on stage one day. That's what he wanted to be - an entertainer. His smiles would be contagious and make others smile, he would have been perfect for the job. She looked up to the ceiling and smiled at the thoughts of him. Dasom pondered if she should tell her friend about him, she's kept it a secret for so long. It's been a thing since freshmen year and now they were seniors, she guessed it was time to spill the beans.
"Um, remember that senior Kim Hajin, that died during our junior year?" She hesitated before taking a breath and continuing on with the story. "Well, he and I were dating." Waiting a bit for her friend to catch up on the details, she went on. "That day we were in the library where you asked me to come over because you needed help on math? It was before you came in, he past by with his group of friends and we met eyes and it was kind of love at first sight for me." She smiled at the memory. "He, um, asked me out about a week later and I said yes, of course. Why wouldn't I? I mean, he was literally perfect." Dasom bit on her lip and looked over at her friend who seemed to be just staring at her. "And well, we went out for two years, the relationship kind of ended because he... died. Jiji, I'm really sorry I never told you any of this, it's just, I couldn't find the right time to. The reason I never get interested in other guys is because of him. He loved me so much, Hyeji-yah. Kim Hajin, he... he died because of me. He dropped his gift for me for our second year anniversary and that's how he got hit by a car. It's all because of stupid me. I can't really look at another guy when all this guilt is in me and I just can't forget him that easily." A single tear rolled down her eye and she wiped it quickly, not wanting to cry on such a day as today.
