NEVER flip your canvas. That's valuable time you could be using to draw everything at a slant.
was looking for some other old art, and found the sketch that I did to help me picture everyone in ass quest :)

[ID: Commander Cody in his painted phase 2 armor is facing the viewer, with his helmet on. Obi-Wan Kenobi is facing away from the viewer, you can only see the back of his head and shoulders but that’s enough to see a tear sliding down his cheek.
Between them, pointed at Cody’s chest, is the same model blaster as the one Cody normally uses.
In the bright green background, there are yellow and blue starbursts. Streaks of blue, green, and yellow are incorporated throughout the painting.
END ID]

Compiled some basic information I know about drawing fat characters for beginners since I've been seeing more talk about absence of really basic traits in a lot of art lately.

Hey Nerds, Artists, and fans of fun and weird stuff: Exciting news!
Some of you know that I recently did a collaborative photoshoot with @null-entity to produce a bunch of stock reference images of archery, pole, and general fantasy combat nonesense. Well, the first of those image packs is NOW AVAILABLE. You can purchase individual packs, or sign up for the relevant Patreon memberships to get them for free!
More sets, including archery hand references, paired archery poses, and archery muscle references, will be uploaded in the coming weeks.
Hey! What do you use to seal your oil pastel paintings?
I dont seal them I just put paper between the pages😭 it doesn’t rly work very well so I’ve just accepted the fact that they won’t last forever
hey, I have two recommendations for anyone who does art with pastel, pencil, charcoal or anything that smudges.
First, if you don’t want to spray anything on it or it’s a work in progress, I really recommend storing your art with a sheet of acetate between the pages rather than paper to prevent it from smudging. It works so well, even when I carry the same sketchbook for years there are no smudges! (Bonus, acetate is not plastic and is somewhat biodegradable so it’s better for the environment. It’s available as sheets or a roll)
As for fixative, I know there are the Krylon spray-cans but they scare me. The alternative is SpectraFix, made from a natural chemical found in milk called casein. It comes in a refillable spray bottle as a powder and it must be mixed with either grain alcohol like Everclear or vodka. I must note, I haven't actually used SpectraFix just yet but I'll share when I do.
Before using any fixative, test it on a piece first. If its a spray-can, work in a ventilated area and don’t spray from too close to your art, it can ruin it.
Thank you!! I’ll def be trying out the acetate

i just realized i never posted about my stickers on "the locked tomb .com" (tumblr) so hi! i've got some fun blacklight stickers with the absolutely unhinged letter that (maybe) Augustine wrote and Wake co-opted.
