Yes, but as a note: You must DECLARE AFFIRMATIVELY that you are invoking your right to remain silent!! If you just stay silent, you haven’t actually invoked the right. It’s an annoying legal thing, but you have to speak in order to stay silent. All you have to do is say “I am exercising my right to remain silent” (and then DO remain silent after that!).

I’m depressed I have been for many years. I think it’s affecting my relationship with my bf of 1 year and 4 months. I don’t wanna do anything with him like go out or have him come over. I just want to be left alone. I feel like I’m doubting if I love him or if we’re ever going to last and I don’t know what to do. I’ve been feeling this way for a while now. Thing is, he makes me happy..but when he’s mad he’s the meanest person I’ve met. He tells me hurtful things but he’s nice sometimes.

From what you’re telling me, I feel like this guy isn’t good for you. It seems like he may be abusive, maybe not physically but emotionally and that can be just as bad. If you already have depression then this really isn’t helping and will not help in the future. I know that 1 year is a long time and you feel attached but there’s a point where you need to let go and I think this is it. I feel like you not wanting to see him may also be because he is hurtful towards you and being nice “sometimes” isn’t a healthy relationship. I know this is really hard and I’m not saying at all that this will be easy but I think you should really consider breaking things off, I hope you find things getting better soon!

Me and this boy used to "date" in 8th grade. I was over it and didn't talk to him for so long but now it's senior year in high school. I had a conversation with him randomly and all of a sudden I was brought back to liking him. I don't know why bc we aren't even friends anymore. I feel dumb for even thinking about him. Hi I hope this answer isn’t too late! The problem with really strong feelings is that more often than not they can reappear very suddenly just as strong as they always were so you aren’t dumb for thinking about him or liking him still! I think that you need to find out for sure if he has a thing with someone else and if he doesn’t then definitely try to talk to him some more and get to rebuild your relationship. Also keep in mind that this could be more of a nostalgic thing and it might pass if you guys don’t have any other interactions! Either way if you have an opportunity to get close to him do it but if he doesn’t seem to be worth the effort don’t sweat it and focus on having a kickass senior year instead! Keep me updated on the situation and I’ll try to help if I can!

I'm in a relationship with this girl that literally makes me feel like I'm flying but my last three serious relationships ended with them cheating on me and now I'm incredibly insecure about myself and relationships and I absolutely hate it. This girl literally has every last piece of me I can give and I want to be the best I can for her how can I put my own shit aside and start working on my trust issues so I'm not freaking out every time she hangs out with her guy friends

Honestly, I would say that you first have to be honest with her and tell her the shit that’s gone down in your past relationships. If she knows then she can help you work through it as a couple so you’re both on the same side. I would also say that when she’s hanging out with her guy friends that you need to either distract yourself so you aren’t constantly over thinking her being with them or just keep reminding yourself that she’s gone out with them before and nothing has happened.I really hope this relationship is everything you want it to be and I 100% think being honest is the best way forward!

I burned from the inside out just because you told me to and it may sound crazy how much control I allow you to have but it’s always been that way between you and I. I suffer everyday because I want you to be happy and i want everything to be easy for you, or at least easier than it ever was for me. I broke like glass and it seems like everything I ever did was for you, but you never worry about me because I was never good enough for you. Even after all that i still wanted you, I wasn’t afraid to get hurt as long as i was getting hurt by you I was okay and that was not okay.

i'm someone different lol but when you were talking about the cheating, what if it wasn't their fault? what if it wasn't on purpose? an accident? they didn't want it?

That’s a more difficult situation I think. I mean, if they were drunk at a party and were taken advantage of it’s a completely different situation because that isn’t really cheating as much as it is rape. However, let’s say this “accident” was them kissing someone else because they were alone and it “just happened.” The way I see it is that things like that don’t just happen, it happened because there was some sort of attraction and if there’s an attraction then the person that is in a relationship should not choose to be alone with the person they’re attracted to or they shouldn’t be in a relationship. Admittedly, there are a lot of different factors that play into what is cheating and what isn’t cheating. Bottom line, if someone willingly and in their right mind (being drunk is sort of also included in being in their right mind because I mean, drunk words are sober thoughts) decides to make a move on someone else then to me that is cheating. If it was against the persons will and they were taken advantage of than that is not cheating. But of course, this is only how I see it and different people/couples will have different views so it really does vary

Why do people cheat on the people they love?

The way I see it, if someone cheats then they were never in love. If they were in love then they wouldn’t want to put you through the pain of them lying and being with someone else behind your back. If someone has cheated on you it’s because they aren’t mature and don’t know how to communicate or respect you enough to end things with you. I’ve seen firsthand how cheating can wreck people and in the end it’s a selfish unnecessary act that no one should have to put up with and if someone has cheated on you I hope you realize that you’re worth so much more than that and don’t put up with the person anymore
