Alysmond hitting the local tavern for a low-key date 😇
hi decided to make some art of the boys (or, well, vought rising i guess !!!) just kinda felt like it
i took inspiration from a short-lived captain america 1950s comic run that had the subtitle "captain america... commie smasher" thought it was fitting
#vought rising #bombsight #torpedo #soldier boy #clara vought #art by nastsand
I keep thinking about the asexual Homelander thing.
So let’s start from the beginning.
Growing up, it is canon that he was sexually abused in some way, it deepened the repression. S4 ep4 mentioned that growing up he couldn’t feel comfortable with things like masturbation because he would be humiliated by grown men.
In s1 we hear Butcher call HL a saint. The narrative Vought feeds us is that Homelander is this Barbie like man. In covers of magazines, parties, shoots. He’s always in the suit, always with the cape. And symbols don’t fuck.
He seems to be so uninterested in people. It reminds me of a tik tok that explained someone’s personal approach to asexuality and it showed stock picture of people with a “this is how I see people around me as an aro ace person”. Yea.
But then there is Madelyn. In diabolical we don’t see him being particularly into her. He just trusts her with his career. With “I spend years in a lab being trained, I want to be useful” so what does Maddie do? (17 vs late 20s/30s age gap btw) she put her finger down his body until he gets hard and ofc he does considering the clumsy repressed nature he is. And does it mean attraction? No idea, but in his mind it must mean “wait she didn’t make fun of me. She loves me.”
That’s why he will forever hallucinate her of all people cause he trusted her the most and he knows it’s her who shaped him.
Through s1 we also see him being obsessed with Meave. And we have Becca’s story as well. Which was just abuse, there’s no talk here about anything else here or whatever it was just pure evil.
At the end of s1 we see Madelyn and HL fuck and it’s always super uncomfortable for me to watch. Because it is a mirror to the Diabolical scene. I always noticed how he slaps her a bit as if trying to prove soemthing or wear a mask of someone who just fucks that way.
And we don’t see him do it until Stormfront. Who he was also not into until she told him that he is destined to do great things.
So there was no “love at the first sight” or even falling in love on healthy terms.
She flicks a switch that Madelyn planted, the doctors planted. There’s no shame, just obsession that comes from both of them unlike how it was with Madelyn.
And the obsession is extreme. Mind you, this is before “I can do whatever I want” and jerking off looking down at NYC. And he has public sex with Stormfront. This public figure does…that. Unexpected? Idk it feels like someone understands him and then he takes on that mania and takes it to an extreme.
I’m not talking about spectrum, but about mental disorder. Because his past has a clear effect on how the spectrum would be defined. He is definitely not masking anything, he’s extremely okay with how he is UNTIL.
Soldier boy. Because his dad suggests he is asexual to which HL says “my dick was wet when I wiped it on Stormfront’s chin.” And honestly it was awful to hear because it was a defense mechanism as if being ace was wrong. He was never hateful of himself in that way, maybe it was almost like something to celebrate. After all; it is special to be loved by him.
That’s why he isn’t letting Firecracked get it even tho she gets close. She uses the right language for a while, the right tone, the eyes. And then she suggests people are afraid of him. No, no. He isn’t regressing. So he… well. Kills her. Because she seemed to have been questing his “normality”
Where at the end of the day it’s just sex and it isn’t that deep but I am happy they are taking on what the fans noticed which is his approach to sex.
I personally think that sexuality is fluid. Some bits of it are natural and some can be reshaped by our lives and the water we swam in. To see him be called asexual as an insult isn’t a nice feeling. Seeing people like Madelyn who abused the existing asexuality/ contributed to the trauma that created it, still haunt him isn’t nice either. It’s a sensitive subject guys, I hope he accepts whatever he is and SB stfu🎀😔
But he had passionate sex with Stormfront (at her home, in the alley), plus the flowers — all of that happened before she told him that he was destined for greatness.
She projected an incredible amount of self-confidence, which I believe is what he was attracted to. So she didn't need to flick a switch that Madelyn planted to attract him. But to hook him completely? Maybe. After all, after Stormfront, he never seemed to want anyone else.
I never posted this here but here's my take on The Black Dread, idk about the size but I used the "he could swallow a mammoth whole" as reference :>

HC about Maegor and his relationship with his wives
Ceryse
Maegor respected Ceryse’s intelligence but didn’t care for her as a person, and he definitely didn’t love her. I don’t think she loved him either, but she went back to him out of pride rather than real affection or ambition. It was about keeping her dignity, which is something I would like to explore.
After Maegor’s head injury, I think he directed much of his anger and violence toward Ceryse. She became a target because she reminded him of the marriage he was forced into by his brother and father. To Maegor, she symbolized everything he hated about being controlled.
Alys
Before his injury, Alys was probably the only person Maegor truly loved. He admired her bravery and her determination to escape Harrenhal, and I think he cared about her feelings. After the injury, though, I think she noticed the change in him more than anyone else.
His violence was aimed at others, like Ceryse, but not at Alys at first. Even so, I imagine she put some distance between them and leaned on Tyanna for support. Tyanna likely took advantage of this, working slowly to push Alys and Maegor apart. Eventually, in his paranoia and madness, Maegor allowed Alys to be tortured. By then, he had stopped loving her. He confused possession and obsession with love, which led to the death of the only person who ever truly cared for him.
As for Alys, I think she held onto the belief that somewhere inside, Maegor was still the gallant prince she had fallen for. That makes her fate even more tragic as she liver and died as an idealistic woman.
Tyanna
Tyanna and Maegor were never in love. He let her get close because Alys liked her at first, and later because he trusted her magical skills and saw them as useful. Tyanna, however, only cared about gaining power. She was a true villain, loyal only to herself, much like Maegor.
Tyanna likely worked hard to become Maegor’s closest advisor, manipulating him into trusting her. She probably betrayed Alys to get closer to him, only to be killed and discarded when she was no longer useful. Tyanna’s story is tied to Alys’s, as Alys was the one who saw potential in her and gave her a chance. I would argue u can talk about Alys/Tyanna more than with her with Maegor.
Part 2
Prince Meagor Targaryen and his 2nd wife Alys Harroway
Oh, Alys and Maegor! ❤️ She looks so tiny and fragile near him. I believe she was the only woman whom he loved [romantically cause I think Visenya had a special place in his heart as his mother].
Valyrian sacrament, because why not? Halloween is near, and November, too💙
So beautiful ❣️

The second wife of Maegor Targaryen
Queen Alys Harroway,
second wife of Maegor Targaryen. Her death is said to have taken a fortnight of agonizing torture, for which Maegor himself was present.
My his favourite queen 💔
favorite Cersei Lannister moments in the books
every time she's compared to a cat. I love that she hissed in her first POV chapter
her hearing that she will be killed by her brother/a brother and not once in all of 30 years thinking it might be the other one of her two brothers
the literally one scene in the whole book where her and Tyrion are happy with each other because theyre both laughing at how stupid Renly is (and then he poisons her with laxatives)
when she keeps fucking and seducing the Kettleblacks, gets one of them to kill the pope, and at no point seems to think this plan may have flaws
when she's like "ugh Robert only kept Jalabhar Xho around because he probably was thinking about Summer Island women… with their big dark nipples… wearing nothing but feathers…"
when she's running through the sept trying to evade capture and it genuinely reads like a Tom & Jerry scene
when she makes Aurane Waters her admiral because he reminds her of Rhaegar and then he embezzles all her shit and runs off
WHEN TAENA JOKES ABOUT MARGAERY AND LORAS HAVING INCESTUOUS SEX AND CERSEI IS LIKE "OK WRAP IT UP"
Small sketch of Aemond as a gift for @elcoffin

@indigopersei is the french language just always on the verge of getting someone accused of assault or..?
my friend, if only you knew
It’s a very dangerous language to learn
Here’s an interesting thing about French! Everything needs to have an article in front of it. That’s why it’s “la chat” as opposed to just “chat”. So, for instance, you could say la fille for the girl, or jeune fille for young girl, but you can’t just say fille, because that means you are calling her a sex worker in a derogatory way.
The moral of the story is, if you want to make something rude in French, just take out the article in front of it. Yes, this works for nearly. every. word.
#now I’m wondering how often my high school french teacher was silently screaming because of this little fact
Every year. Every year there’s that kid who forgets that you can’t translate “I am excited” to “Je suis excitée”. And every year Monsieur Jordan has to slam the brakes before that kid can finish his sentence and then tactfully ask him not to announce to the class that he is horny.
“is the french language always on the verge” oh buddy, oh pal, i am so happy to break this news to you:
truly the language of love
