Family Likeness AU - Profiles!
Character Profile: Cassandra Afton.
Cassandra (Cassie) Afton: 9 years old (Born April 16th 1948 - Died August 28th 1957)
The older sister of William Afton, this 9 year old girl has a few memories from before the family moved from London and often tells William of her exploits which involved wandering around places that were wrecked during the Blitz.
Always one for making a bit of mischief, she loves to tell her baby brother all sorts of twisted fairy tales.
Although she makes light of it and always reassures him that those stories aren't real.
She will still let him sleep in her bed if he's too scared to sleep in his.
Both her and William usually have to make their own entertainment as there are not really any other children where they currently live.
She encourages Will to dream up fantasy lands and they play make believe quite a lot.
During an argument with her brother in the family's garden, William pushed her in anger and she ended up falling down the disused well; much to his shock.
It's her death that haunted him throughout his childhood (to the point that he'd hallucinate seeing her stand next to him in the reflection of a mirror) and while the guilt is eased by the time he's an adult; Charlotte's death re-ignites that guilt he felt over Cassandra's death long ago.
More about the Family Likeness AU!
Eventually the AU would cover William's adult life.
Going with the events of the games (with some creative liberties thrown in)
He would be a strict but loving father who is thrown into emotional turmoil when his youngest son suffers at the teeth of one of his friend's animatronics.
The death of Charlotte would be an accident; That fateful rainy night in 1985…William was late for his shift at the restaurant; it was like she just came out of nowhere, and then there was a thud…
And the second half of the AU would be where he died in the Spring Bonnie suit and his mind spent some time in the Flipside before awakening as Springtrap.
During this moment in time - William woke up in an unfamiliar place and a different form (unknown to him at the time) he then finds himself wandering with no particular goal in mind.
In time he'll learn that this is a place known as the 'Flipside' a bizarre world full of talking animals (some even look suspiciously like the animatronics that him and Henry built)
Eventually he reaches the sub tunnels and meets an old Crocodile Fisherman who refers to himself as 'Old Man Consequences'
Although the old man urges William to rest his soul, William makes it clear he's having none of it and attempts to find a way out, believing that it was not his time.
When his escape attempt fails, William spends some time by the lake and comes to learn that his only way of exiting this place would be to go into the water.
In doing so, he would finally receive judgement for his soul and be sent to his fate; either a place deep in hell…or he would be reborn as a new person; he would no longer be himself.
Not liking the possible outcome of either of those things, William heads towards an old castle keep and is surprised to find two stone staircases, one that leads up and the other that seemed to go straight down.
With his curiousity piqued, William takes the staircase going down…until it leads him to some sort of boiler room where a fire has broken out.
It's there that he meets a familiar face from his past, his sister Cassandra…but this one calls herself Cassidy and speaks of cryptic things that would be well beyond a child of her age's understanding.
When some stray sparks of flame catch on his fur, Cassidy tells the panicking William to not think of this as an ending, but rather a new beginning…and that in time, he'll come to understand what she means.
It's then that he's taken back to the realm of the living…and awakens as Springtrap.
Agnes would come up again during the Flipside part, now as a Shadow Bonnie serving Old Man Consequences.
The reasoning behind this would include her backstory and ties to a certain 'Eleanor' as well as how she ended up working for OMC.
The ending would be Springtrap returning to the Flipside; but it was an otherwise open ending.
AU Lore post!
Character Profile: Agnes Afton (nee Lofler/Spooner.)
Agnes Elizabeth Afton/ nee Lofler: Aged 40 (born October 31st 1923 - died December 29th 1963)
Agnes is William's mother, she lost a custody battle against her husband in a messy divorce after he got William to give a false testimony which was believed by the court.
Publicly humiliated and unable to face the reality of living apart from her husband and eleven year old son, she committed suicide in the marital home.
Agnes used to be a performer and sometimes William and Cassandra would get to watch their mother on the stage.
This instills a love for playing different parts in the young boy.
It would also explain why Agnes felt a lot of shame when she lost the court custody case for her son (Cassandra was dead by that time) as the lies that were spread by her husband became bait for the local press to publish all sorts of slander.
Ms. Lop was her old stage-name… although she wasn't a rabbit back then.
Her hair used to be styled a certain way that resembled a lop-eared rabbits ears.
A FNAF AU I've been working on since August 25th 2021.
It's an imagining of William Afton's past from childhood til adulthood.
I called it Family Likeness
It begins in the summer of 1957 and revolves around William and his older sister (this is how you can clearly tell it's an AU, lol) Cassandra.
They live in an old country house with their parents; Bill and Agnes.
The plot would have a few slice of life moments to establish the siblings bond; William is very clingy with Cassandra as there aren't really any other children near where they live.
