Quinn is happy about fitness testing being removed in the new CBA:
Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes thinks the tests make no sense.
“I need to prove that I’m in shape? Like, I play the most minutes in the league,” he said.
As Quinn Hughes said, “I train my ass off all the time,” so having a long camp that tires players out “is so archaic to me.”

Swedes hanging out & becoming homeowners:
For Nils Åman, summer 2025 was full of milestones and adventures. He became a homeowner and finally took up Nils Höglander’s longstanding invitation to visit his hometown of Bockträsk, Sweden. The 10-hour drive was worth it - Höglander introduced Åman to the great outdoors, including camping, building fires, and cooking outside.
Linus Karlsson also became a proud homeowner this summer, buying a home close to Höglander’s hometown.
During the Michigan leadership summit, Petey and Quinn lost a golf bet against Foote and Demko:
Foote: “We had some golf, Demmer and I took them down. They still owe us $100.”
Petey: “I do, I still haven’t paid him. He’ll get it later today.”

Jake on chirping teammates on the ice:
“I didn’t even know Demmer was part of our group, and then I started hearing him chirp me every time I was shooting. I heard him from the other end one time, he was chirping me and I was like “who the — who’s in net?” And then I was like ‘well, it’s Demmer,’ but I didn’t remember him here last year. So it’s new for me, and he seemed to be enjoying himself.
“I get a reaction out of everybody usually, to be honest with you… Brock’s actually pretty calm when I talk to him, because usually I’m just asking him questions, what are we doing here, things like that. But he’s actually pretty talkative out there.
“Who’s the most stone-faced, maybe Marcus Pettersson. I don’t talk to M-Petey too much out there. Maybe this camp I’ll just mess with him and tell him he did something wrong when he didn’t, skate away.”
Lankinen on saunas in Vancouver:
“The Canucks alumni Jyrki Lumme has a great sauna at his place in North Van, so I’ve been popping up there once in a while. And he’s great, he’s always had an open invite. [Saunas are] a great tradition, so maybe we’ll figure something out here as we go.”

i hate when something violent happens to a right wing politician and every left leaning pundit and politician gets on their soap box about how "violence isn't the answer" as if the right wing ideology doesn't inherently encourage violence.
