Little Nightmares - Ferryman Headcanons
• His real name is Nauthros
• He is the first and oldest resident of the Nowhere.
• He’s old. Like, REALLY OLD. He’s been alive from thousands, MILLIONS or years and he STILL not dying anytime soon.
• He thrives best in or near water and the ocean. He constantly smells like sea water.
• He can attract his mouth and face forward into a large jaw, showing his eyes as well, he has two rows of teeth and he’s TERRIFYING. (@keikoyume for reference👌)
• He has never killed a human child. Only indirectly by taking them to the Nowhere.
• When he kidnaps humans, he hold them in his hands, his pockets or he eats them temporarily. He has a stomach pouch where he takes him before he regurgitates them. The kids he does this too are either traumatized for life or now vore fans.
• He can perfectly shape shift into anyone and everything he wants, he can also change his voice perfectly, almost no one can tell it’s him.
• He can teleport almost instantly. Blink once and the. He’s right behind you
• He also has a a bunch of other eldritch powers, though he won’t share
• Oh yeah, he’s also the boogeyman lol
• He’s VERY patient and will play the long game to catch victims if he has too.
• He’s also VERY manipulative.
• He doesn’t always take humans to the Nowhere, sometimes the Nowhere takes the children itself, but if the child keeps traveling between the Nowhere and Earth, he will intervene to take them over completely
• He’s very gentle when he’s holding or have captured a human, he handles them gently, not enough to crush them, but enough so they don’t get away.
• It’s very hard to read him. Nobody knows what they guy’s thinking most of the time.
• He’s very warm, touching him feels like touching a furnace.

• A lot of the children he kidnaps find themselves growing fond of him and see him as some sort of father figure. This immediately fades when he takes them to the Nowhere and abandons them to their fates. They HATE him for ruining their lives.
• He often speaks in riddles and rhymes, but he can also speak normally.
• Lots of residents are scared of him due to his powers and his intimidating presence.
• The reason he takes children to the Nowhere is for the residents to have a food source and so the Nowhere can feast on their fears and souls. Also so it can make new residents should they lose their humanity. He dosen’t give two shits about the lives and families he destroys in doing so
• He’a currently working for the Maw, bringing humans to the Maw to serve the Lady and/or be eaten. No one knows why though…
