THE SMOKEY LADY

With evocative flavours of smoked Lapsang Souchong tea, the Smokey Lady is reminiscent of gathering around an open fire with friends and family, and pairs perfectly with this month’s Pillar of Style.

Glass – Coupette/Cocktail

Ingredients • 50ml  Beefeater 24 • 2 Orange Slices • 20ml Lemon Juice • 10ml Lapsang Souchong Tea Syrup • Garnish – orange twist

Method 1. Add all the ingredients including orange slices, to shaker and shake hard with ice. 2. Fine strain into glass and garnish.

To make syrup

1. Make a strong brew of Lapsang, but be careful not to over extract tannins.

2. Pass through sieve, then measure into pan 2 cups of caster sugar to 1 cup of tea. Warm gently in pan, stirring constantly until clear and glossy with all sugar crystals dissolved. 

3. Pour into bottle and store in fridge when cool.

THE FRUITCAKE FLIP

Glass – Fruit or flip glass

Ingredients • 50ml Oolong Tea Infused Beefeater 24 • 15ml Malt Fruit Loaf & Date Syrup • 15ml Double Cream • 1 Free Range Egg Yolk • Garnish – Grated nutmeg, shaved dark chocolate

Method 1. Add all the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously 2. Strain liquid into a glass 3. Add garnish

To make syrup • 4 toasted slices of Soreen Malt Fruit Loaf • 5 dried dates • 500ml boiling water

1. Stir and dissolve all into water then pass through a sieve using back of spoon to force as much as possible through. 2. Add one cup of this solution to two cups of caster sugar to a pan of warm water and stir till glossy and all sugar dissolved.

THE BEEFEATER 24 GIN & TONIC

The perfect complement to a timeless piece of fashion is a timeless drink, and a Beefeater 24 G&T is just that. The difference in this in this gin and tonic is the addition of a slice of grapefruit, used to help accentuate Beefeater 24’s use of grapefruit peel as one of its key botanicals.

Glass – Highball

Ingredients • 50ml Beefeater 24 • Tonic of choice (although we’re partial to Fever Tree) • Ice – cubed or hand chipped • Garnish – pink grapefruit slice

Method 1. Add gin, tonic and a little ice together, fill with as much ice as will fit in glass, add garnish and top with tonic if required.

AFTER HOURS

AUTUMNAL NIGHTS

Glass – Coupette/Cocktail

Ingredients • 35ml of Chai Infused Beefeater 24 • 5ml Plymouth Fruit Cup (or Beefeater homemade fruit cup) • 20ml Maraschino • 20ml Lemon Juice • 10ml Gomme

Method 1. Pour a bottle of Beefeater 24 into a glass jug then add 4 teaspoons of loose tea and leave to brew at room temperature for at least 4 hours. Filter well and then re-bottle. 2. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake hard with ice and strain into glass.

It’s with some sadness that we begin to say goodbye to our dear friend, Summer.

However in doing so, we believe that it should sent it off in a relaxed but effortlessly stylish way, akin to this month’s pillar of style. To do this we recommend none other than a punch bowl of 24 Gun Salute, with its citrus flavours and warming notes of spicy ginger that to us, are a true representation of the transition into fall  

Glass – Punch bowl & Cups

Ingredients 

• 3 parts Beefeater 24 • 2 parts Lillet Blanc • 2.5 parts Pink Grapefruit Juice • 1.5 parts of homemade ginger syrup • 7.5 parts Green Gunpowder Tea • A small amount of Lemon Juice to taste • Ice – cubed or hand cut block • Garnish – Ginger slices, Mint Sprigs, Pink Grapefruit Wheels
