Hello!! Just started following and I just love your art style, if you don't mind me asking what is your process or tips for shading/lighting, you do such a wonderful job at it! Keep up the good work, can't wait to see more art!
IMO, figuring out the lighting of a drawing first then shadows second is more useful then vice-versa cause with knowing where the light is, you'll get an idea of where the shadow goes.
Here's a WIP of a drawing I was doing earlier this week. After sketching, I like to plan out the lightning first just so when it's time for it, I don't have to stress about it (Also cause, out of everything, I like lighting more than anything in my drawings lol). Sometimes I'll add shading too but, I usually save that for after I color and clean the drawing n such.
Color-wise, a majority of artists will recommend using complementary colors from the RGB wheel (Red/cyan, magenta/green, blue/orange, purple/yellow, etc.) for lighting and shading since it looks more pleasing to the eye. Most of the time, I like to use light yellow/orange for the lighting and a dark blue/purple for shadows. I set my lighting layer to "Add (Glow)" and shadow layer to "Multiply" then lower both opacities to my liking (I use CSP for my works)

To add more depth, I add a light gradient using a more saturated version of the color I used for the lighting, set it to either "Add (Glow)" or "Vivid light," place the layer under the shadow layer and lower the opacity. I like to use the airbrush and place it around the main light source.
I'll also use a transparent color and brush it around the edges of the shadow layer using an airbrush depending on how intense the lighting is.

More recently I've started to use more soft brushes and bit more complex lighting for my drawings, but overall I still use the same tactic. I hope this helps :)
