pov: you’re on animal crossing tumblr in 2015

So I had this idea of using the custom design portal to see if there were any green screen wallpapers, along with other solid color backgrounds. I wanted to experiment and see if I can use these wallpapers to make transparent gifs with different emotes. It worked, and I used my favorite villager, Rosie, as my first test! I’m going to make more of these with different villagers! Here’s the green screen design I used:

This normal bird gets her name from the insect, the midge, which birds thankfully eat and keep away from my face! She has the education hobby and she loves to read and learn new things! She’s skilled at tongue twisters, and one day she wants to be an artist! She loves blend coffee with tons of milk and sugar, and her favorite songs are KK Stroll and KK House! Wish her a beautiful birthday, tweedledee!

Named for the Roman goddess of the hunt, this snooty deer has the name Diana! She has the education hobby, and she can often be found studying, her snout in a good book! She’s skilled at playing poker, and one day she plans to be a dermatologist! She loves the song Farewell, and her favorite coffee is a Kilimanjaro with the average amount of milk and sugar! Wish her a delightful birthday, no doy!

A lot of it has to do with the items available. The furniture sets from previous games were much more colorful and diverse, which meant people could design all sorts of different themes without resorting to a customized umbrella or panel item.

Now, we can’t even take our furniture to Cyrus for customization.

For one, the cottagecore style is a trend here. At the same time, we are missing many furniture items that made different styles possible.

TBH they took a lot away from us it sucks, like, one of the few items that comes to mind for a colorful theme is the teacup ride but like.... theres not enough of that type of stuff anymore to fill up a whole island 😭 i was hoping we'd be getting some of the furniture they had made for pocket camp like the jelly set (thats my favvv) but ig not

Recently got back into Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so of course I did some fanart for it.

Here’s my new north room on the first floor! I used to have a similar dorm-styled bedroom when I first started playing, so this is my new and improved remodel, now a cozy yet trendy office (with a lofted bed for those longer nights). It makes me miss where I lived before the pandemic. Also I’m obsessed with this glow in the dark starry wall!
