âWellâŠnow I can officially say that Iâve seen everything.â
The auburn-haired woman scoped out her surroundings as she walked through the mall. Sure, sheâd been inside malls plenty of times, but never one for magical creatures. Vines of all shapes and lengths hung over walls and columns, making the place look like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Various creatures of legend strolled about, shopping forâŠwhatever it was magical creatures usually shopped for. She could imagine Bob having a goddamn field day here, but because the unicorn was off on a âromanticâ holiday with Alejandro, she was here with a kelpie that towered over her and could totally kill her if she wished.Â
âForever 2,100? American Griffon? What do they even sell at those places?â Taylor asked aloud, before taking notice of her partner-in-crime. She saw another human walking in their direction, which was odd, considering where they were. But before Taylor could just brush it off, she remembered the kelpie next to her.
âNettle, donât you dare eat him!â she hissed at her, narrowing her eyes as she did so. The good Princess Alexandra had told them about the mall, and had warned Taylor to keep an eye on Nettle, as there were humans that also did their shopping at that particular mall, for spells, artifacts, and the like.Â
âSpellStop, HoofLocker, Sirens...What in hellâs bells...?â
Nettle had never seen so many creatures under one roof. Her orange eyes were wide and ears pricked as they twisted and jerked at every noise. A place for magical folk to sell and buy their wares? Preposterous! Who would have thought of such a wonderful, incredible thing?
So much so, she had almost forgotten about her little companion. Well, more like her little babysitter. Nettle had the sneaking suspicion that Taylor was suppose to watch her during their shopping trip, curtesy of Princess Alexandra. Why? Nettle was a good kelpie, sheâd never ever cause trouble~
Her eyes slid from the sights of the mall to the human women walking beside her with much more bravery and mettle then Nettle thought was appropriate for a human stuck with a kelpie for a day. Â Not that Taylor need worry, for Nettle liked her and the women had practically a whole blessing of unicorns on her side.
With a delicate twist of her neck, Nettle watched a human pass by with a rather malicious grin. (Another human? Here? How exciting.) Her legs twitched midstep, like she was about to turn around and follow him.
That is, Taylor seemed to read her thoughts and scolded the kelpie for it.
âWhat? All I did was look at him!â Nettle protested with a high pitched whine and an offended snort. âSalt anâ iron, yo actinâ like Iâd rip his head off right here.â
Oh no, sheâd never do that. Sheâd wait until they both just so happened to walk into the same alley way. It would be the polite thing to do.
âAnyway, why are we here, exaclty? Clothes shoppinâ? Gettinâ our hooves and nails done? Ha! Nettle tittered shrilly, like a raven. âActually, I wouldnât refuse the latter. My hooves have been dull foâ weeks.â
