I visit the MondoCon in autumn 2013. This convention is each quarter of the year. Similary to the situation in Germany with the AnimagiC and AnimaniA is in backdrop of MondoCon the MONDO Magazin. The event location is the Hungexpo in Budapest. There are an extensive area with a small pond and many colonnades.

It is usual, for a convention, that fan exhibitors displaying products of her fandom for visitors. I have see a stand for Stargate and a feisty LARP group. The gamesroom was a separate hall. The visitors were very jollily. I was missing some chairs at stage area. Unfortunately the theatre style was only in a norrow area before the platform. There are a lot of cosplay contests with facinating performances. I like the idea that submissions of drawing contests will be shown to public at the event. The food was good, but the plastic dishes caused a lot of waste.

In my opinion is the MondoCon a well organized event in a suitable exhibition grounds. I would like to go back whein it's warmer.

The Connichi can congratulate themselves on being the "biggest annual Anime- and Manga Convention in Germany". It will take place in month of September. There are in Kassel a centrally located city in Europe.

In this year I visit this convention very spontaneous. It was a pleasure to meet Yaya Han and get an autograph from her for me. I was surprised to hear that she can speak in German language.

This convention have many merchandise stores but oriental stores too. I think that toe socks are nice however to put on clothes need much time. Howsoever I find a Daruma doll is a droll figure. This is just a small part of the Connichi. When you are there you see many cosplayer. On the lawn behind the building are very many of this people.

I am sorry to say but I didn't really like this event. My problem with the Connichi is difficult to explan but I think the organizers relying on the quantity and make not really new things. I think the right word of this situation is "decadence". For me personally, it's important to do something new and undergo changes.

In August 2013 I visited the AniNite in Austria. This convention is the biggest event for Japanese popular culture there. In this year was the for the first time in Mulitversum near Vienna. This is a big multifunctional building for different events.

There are a lot of contest for exemple: greencat's photo-challenge, several cosplay contests, Seiyū quiz, Pokémon tournament, Austrian otaku of the year. The way of functioning was very simple at the photo challenge. Every of the three convention days there is a theme that will be announced in the morning. The photo must be take on the day of the theme publication. A jury assessed the creativity, quality and implementation of the default themes of the pictures.

I had my pleasure at the AniNite 2013. The hamburgers were excellent but the Asian food was little bit bland. It were very hot days and that's why I like the aircon. There are vastness in this building and I think this is a enormous potential for the future of this convention.

The Tokyo Melodic-Core / Japanese Anime Rock Band The Asterplace from Tokyo based in New York play in Frankfurt (Main) on their Sakura stream Germany tour 2013. They were on the event CosDay².

The ConTopia is a convention in Dortmund. In 2013 was the event on last weekend in June. The location Fritz-Henßler-Haus is easily accessible from the central station. There are a small hall for show program in this house. I like the taiko drummers if they make Japanese folk and classical music. More modern music made the artist aequitaS after the drums on staturday evening. I saw the group Genesis with their Detective Conan play THE THIEF of the DESERTROSE -3rd Round- and was delighted about this.

There were some nice games like the bobby car ralley at ConTopia. In my opinion one exhibitor was very memorable: SailorMoonGerman.This is a blog about this manga/anime and his fandom. I took few photos of the exhibition pieces. I found a fluffy Pikachu in the shopping mall of this conventions. The special feature is that it can speaks. But I have not bought this because for me need it more extraordinary. All in all, an amusing event.

The Comicfestival Munich is in the capital and the largest city of Bavaria every two years. Bavaria is a state of Germany. In 2013 was the event between  29 May and 2 June. There were many exhibitions and lectures. My favorite exhibitions was this for the 75 anniversary of Superman and Spirou. I took some photos of it. The lecture about "Vicky and the tough kids -  occidental children's literature as TV Anime" was interesting. I was delighted to hear the fact that will be a new Asterix soon. By the way, I bought several comics at this fair. Unfortunately the weather was unpleasant. It was very rainy almost like a monsoom. Nevertheless were much present for the cosplay contest on sunday. It was a little like the book fair in Leipzig only more cozy.

The other comic fair in Bavaria is the Comic Salon Erlangen in the next year. This two events alternate every year. But every year there can be only one.

An organizer of Animefest in Brno (Czech Republic) ask me whether I want to participate in a Panal about conventions in Europe. This was the same month how my travel to Cartoomics in Italy. That was my first trip to a convention outside of Germany. I take this opportunity and was in Czechia this month.

By sharing my knowledge about conventions in Germany want I help to discover Europe. I with colleagues from Hungary and Slovakia talked about conventions in our homeland. Wherever are fans of Japanese popular culture there are fewer differences and more the same. Again, I've met very helpful people. The organizer of Animefest have gathered Cosplayers from Hungary, Netherlands, Norway and Poland. Such an exchange should be expanded in this continent. Europe is a union and therefore we should work together.

The other program was splendid too. There are a national pre-selection of Euro Cosplay and lots of movies. Also a pretty Maid Café. =^.^=

The Japanese band Loverin Tamburin had their first gig in Germany on 4. and 5. May 2013. They were on the event "Hanami - CON MEETS FESTIVAL" in Ludwigshafen (Rhine).

I was on my first convention outside of Germany in March 2013. I can not really objectively describe the Cartoomics in Italy. It was "something different" as a comic fair in Germany. I had prepared for the journey in advance. It is perhaps important to mention that I was lastly on a school trip in Italy (Rome). The Italians speak very little English that I heard at my travel to milan. This people seemed to me very helpful.

I was amazed how intense the cosplayers used the opportunity to present costumes on stage every day of the fair. There was also some dancing shows for entertainment on this stage. It seemed to me that more men than in Germany showed in costumes on cosplay contest. I found a video game area at the show that is also available in my homeland. The fan exhibitors were on a very intense levels to various mainstream cults like Batman, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Resident Evil and other. But the totally different to conventions in Germany was the trade with all sorts of weapons replicas.

All in all it was an interesting trip for me. I going to visit more events like this in Italy. Maybe I travel to Romics or Lucca Comics & Games.
