Hetaman
Hetaman by Anisaki Yuna
An Ecchi manga that focuses more on the relationship aspect than on the Ecchi. Essentially, the main character Ohkuma Satoko goes through a bit of an identity crisis where she has to choose between a weird scientist that can not even take care of himself, but is a good fuck. And a nice guy that despite being cheated on wants her back.
Ohkuma Satoko has a superiority complex about helping people, but an inferiority complex about her feminity. The nice guy is honestly too good for her, but appears to have a bit of a complex himself. Essentially, every character in this is flawed.
The scientist almost starves himself several times doing the course of the manga all by accident. He has a messed up family where all of his brothers are worthless and only good looking.
Overall this manga is not worth the read. It’s boring and the characters ended up being kinda annoying.

Shinigamihime no Saikon
Shinigamihime no Saikon by Meiya Onogami
Cute shoujo story with assassins, poison, dark history of serial murder and a man who probably has serious emotional issues. Like most nobles in medieval Europe did. Based on a European noble structure of lords, peasants, and religions.
However, the strangest character is not the emotionally unstable self-proclaimed Tyrant, but instead the main character. A naive poor noble who has the nickname “Princess of death” that marries the self-proclaimed Tyrant for his money. The Tyrant gains her noble name solidifying his rule and the wife gets to keep her ancestral home. The best kind of marriage of convience.
While the ‘Princess of Death” gained her nickname from her husband dying on the wedding alter from the assassin, she does not deserve her nickname just for that event. She is drawn towards horror. Whether it be in the fictional stories she reads, the historical place she chooses to live, her attempts at sneaking into forbidden places, or her accidental resistance to poison.
The tyrant at first feels nothing but a slight interest in the strange noblewoman that he bought. However, he begins to grow fonder of her as she brings a new life into a place where there had only been death. She reconciles enemies and lost friends, building a broken but warm family with people who had never been in one before.
Her existence allows the unstable tyrant a foundation to stand and rely on.
However, the story itself would have been more interesting if the main character had more power and independence. For the majority of the story, she is forbidden from leaving the mansion like some take on Beauty and the Beast. I would have liked to see her interacting with the citizens of the fief with her strange point of view and taking on leadership responsibilities.

Conflict Lover
Conflict Lover by Satoru Takamiya 3 chapters and 1 short story. Bit of a controversial tale for two reasons. One the age gap between the two main characters of the main story. Two, the familial relation between the main characters of the second story.
Both stories drive their main conflicts through misunderstanding’s, miscommunications, and straight up deception. The only reason given is an obsession towards the other person and a twisted want to keep that person to oneself. The short story exhibits these themes in a much more direct way than the main story. The controversial issues are never really addressed in either story and are instead brushed over with the excuse that their feelings mean more. In addition, neither story is afraid to get erotic and it becomes a defining characteristic in the first story.
Overall, not a boring story, but it does not seem to have any real purpose. Its entertainment value is low.

Haru Wa Watashi Wo Baka Ni Suru
Haru Wa Watashi Wo Baka Ni Suru a three chapter shoujo manga by Chia Teshima
This story revolves around the relationship between Ibuki Nao and Shun Sasaki, a typical bad boy good girl story. Short and sweet focusing only on the relationship between the two, but there is no real struggle. This makes the story boring.
It becomes clear in the story that the two have several communication misunderstanding to work out before their relationship reached a point where they both felt stable. However, similar to most short manga they pushed through more issues than they worked out. Leaving the reader feeling unsatisfied.
A cute short manga but not worth the time it took to read it
Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer
Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer by Mitomo Sasako, Kazutaka Kodaka, Spike Chunsoft, and Koizumi Yoichiro a 14 chapter manga that plays out as a psychological thriller. Based on the Dangaronpa series and takes place a few decades after the first anime series.
Focusing on the changing relationship between Misaki Asano, Takumi Hijirihara, and Shuuji Fujigawa and the mystery of the identity of KIller Killer. A serial killer that kills other killers. Interestingly, the audience is aware of the identity of Killer Killer.
The changing relationship between Misaki Asano and Takumi Hijirihara have hints of romance that add dimension to both characters. Both are apart of a ‘justice’ whose job is to track down the remains of ‘despair’. Which suits Hijirihara much more than Asano ( but she is a hard worker, just a bit naive ).
Takumi Hijirihara and Shuuji Fujigawa end up as rivals after being traumatized in the same event from their school years. Due to this, both have a unique habit of hiding in lockers and semi-opposing world views.
The ending is bittersweet with the two main characters running away in order to be together while also being on the lamb because both end up as controversial figures. Overall, it was a good read and the ending was a great way to end a story about the intersections between ‘justice’ and ‘despair’.

Tenpuri
Shoujo oneshot by Miko Mitsuki
Like many oneshots, it has fallen into the hole of trying to do too much too few pages. It creates a supernaturally amazing love interest whose one fault is his young age, shows a faulty solution to the issue which causes a tearful promise for the future, then immediately takes back the future promise and pretends the issue is solved. The better ending would have been stopping it at the tearful goodbye and leaving it with a bit of a cliffhanger plot wise but with an emotional resolution.
Love Diner
A One shot by Takumi Inoue about two company workers competing to complete a restaurants menu
The pair do not share any romantic relationship, but the beginning of one is implied at the end of the story. The overall story and progression is good, it is focused around a single issue ( finishing the menu) but also manages to tie in other themes without pulling away from the main purpose. This is done by focusing on a single POV of the male main character.
Short, sweet, and worth a read
