in iwtv there are 2 layers going on: louis' flashbacks, biased and crystallized, & a more objective reality in dubai where daniel, the stand-in for the viewer, goes back & forth with him. i don't understand why this format was thrown out in tvl, where we are listening to a narration of a documentary of flashbacks, where literally anything can be hand waved away as "well this is all subjective to lestat"! there is nothing in this story to hold onto, to trust!
