I said this today: I haven’t mentioned this much, but The Birthday Problem & Three Songs for Roxy are awards eligible. The rest are at http://t.co/mDgVoIFXPX.

ok this should be my last VATMOSS post.
There’s some really good news for creators working on a commission basis: what you do counts as a service, not a product, and therefore is exempt for now. You should still read up on this issue and contact your MPs and MEPs before it goes any further, because there’s every chance that within the next 24 months you will be affected. Take action now.
There’s also good news for crafters and anyone selling physical products: physical products are exempt for now. Physical products will be included in 2016. Take action now.
There’s even some good-ish news for indie creators whose stuff (games, apps, ebooks, wallpapers, music, etc) does count as a digital product; most popular distributors are already prepared to comply with the new EU VAT regulations, and under the same regulations they, not you, are responsible for compliance. In brief, if a platform already calculates and applies VAT for sales to EU customers without you doing anything, it will be their responsibility to comply with the new regulations, not yours. So unless you’re self-distributing (as I have been), there’s a very good chance the only thing you’re going to have to do is decide whether to eat it (pay it out of your profits) or pass it on to the customer (raise prices).
I just want to reiterate that this all applies to people outside the EU selling digital products to customers within the EU, as well as people selling from within the EU. There is no minimum threshold.
So here’s a roundup of popular platforms and what I’ve been able to find out about their compliance with the new regs, and where you stand. Putting it behind a cut as information is subject to change and I want to be able to keep it updated.

My Science Fiction novel, Unside will be put out by Driven Press in 2015. A comfy sort of man named Charlie owns a store selling skeleton related artistic merchandise. His slender Japanese American friend, Dirk, comes in to visit and Charlie shows him a secret in a coffin in the store. What is it?...
