Marlene was surprise to see Andromeda, but she smiled at her, or at least tried to. It had been a rough day and what waited for her at home was too painful. Ever since her parents and eldest brother died, Marlene and her twin brother had been trying to keep the boat afloat. They had their uncle who helped them, but Marlene being the only adult woman meant her involuntarily assuming a role she didn’t want to play, a maternal role. Her youngest brother was a baby when their parents were murdered, he had no memories of his mother and Marlene was the only adult woman who basically took care of him. She was too young to be dealing with these things. It was safe to say that Marlene barely paid attention to what was going on. She just went from home to work and back home most of the time anyways.
When Andromeda referred to herself as a friend, Marlene blinked slowly. They were friends? Well, sure, they got along and she and Sirius were really close, but friends? Maybe they were and Marlene never really give it too much of a thought, so she decided to not say anything and just smiled at her. “I’m surprised to see you here” she commented before sipping her drink. “I mean, I suppose that’s a stupid thing to say, anyone can go to a bar for a drink, right?”

For the most part, Bella had been using her skills to just blend into the crowd and go about the world with more freedom than she was really suppose to have. The few months in Azkaban as well as the first few months after their escape had hindered a lot of her social needs, sure her husband and brother-in-law were good enough to past the time, she needed more. She was once a formidable witch of a family that was basically royalty in the wizarding world, able to go wherever she wanted to with no plans just because she could, and now she was stuck. Of course it was no one’s fault but her own but she’d rather attempt to push the blame elsewhere.
The words that fell from Marlene’s mouth had her quickly doubting the relationship her sister and the witch next to her had but she pushed that doubt down and focused more on the conversation at hand. “Not necessarily,” She shrugged, her mind running wild with a few ways she could turn this around a bit. “I mean since Ted and I had Nymphadora things aren’t quite the same, we aren’t young teens wanting to let loose at the bars anymore,” She mused, attempting to just lighten the mood though she really had no idea if the family fequented the establishment anyway. Afterall her sister was still young but Bella figured she would’ve been more focused on work and keeping her family safe again, considering the culprit who once tortured her lover was now out and about again.
