Which one of you blood-addled fucks has been leaving Beasts All Over The Shop
my mans Papa Grease for ABAD nomber 2. He shows off how Bloodborne’s combat really is at its best when 1 on 1 with a vicious, ruthless enemy about your size and strength. It becomes this heartracing game of chicken where you have to nimbly dodge and weave through certain death and hold out to the last possible second for a parry as a giant axe flies towards your face with killing intent
Gascoigne is meant to drag you forcibly into The Zone and keep you there for the next 30+ hours. Great boss, great introduction to second phases of bossfights

“Pard!” Phoebe grins, waving an enthusiastic arm to beckon Novus closer, then using a pair of mitts to take the meat from the oven, “You’re back! You gotta try this!”
⋰ C O B A L T ⋱ ☆ ⋰ S T A R
Novus turns a quick glance to the b o i s t e r o u s voice as he wanders in from an expedition. First thought that crosses his mind is that where there is Phoebe, there is f o o d. Ignoring the blotches of dirt covering his cheeks and the s a n d occasionally dripping from his garb, he approaches and lays eyes on a prospective meal. Thousand yard stare, then he snaps out of it.
﮴ This looks delicious. I’ll supply the drink. What will you have? ﮴
Where there is Phoebe, there is food. A better way of putting it is, where there is Phoebe, she finds a way to make food. Or she finds a way to reward herself with food afterwards. Either way, she was something of a cook at heart, because everything she made came out so good, and good things ought to be shared, yeah?
She grins. If she were a light she'd be bright and sending it off for a good fifty feet. It was good to have Novus back. Really good. It meant good news. She hoped.
"I already ate," she explained as she got the makeshift table all set for him, then giggled and blushed, "I ate the guinea pig attempt, but I think I've got the recipe down just right this time."
((hey. Isolation and unemployment have been really really getting to me and I feel like I'm alone even online most of the time, save for a discord server I admin and one I mod. I don't know how much I'm going to be around for the foreseeable future. I'm clawing my way out from creative burnout, and depression, too. I don't really have the energy to plot with people or like starter calls only for nothing to go anywhere, me to get ghosted even though I ask people not to do that, etc.
So. Low activity that's very very selective for a while, probably won't be taking on any threads unless they're from the wanted plots and/or plotted. Thanks.))

“We’re only as important as we allow ourselves to be”, Berith offered, though he was one to talk. Celestial heritage, knowledge of a dozen centuries, he wasn’t struggling to be seen, to play a bigger part in history. His demeanour had once led men to worship him as a god, and though his cult and devotees faded into insignificance, and his name was almost - almost - handed to oblivion, he was still important. Even more important than as the benevolent ‘god’ that he played, and more important than the obedient angel he had started out as. He was a puppeteer now. And how fitting he had found a literal doll to play with.
And yet, her guilessness was what made his game hard to win. Had he been too self-confident? Let himself be tricked into a feeling a touch of sympathy? Whatever it was, he had been careless and then the question pierced his very soul like a dagger through his chest. He flinched, visibly, and looked away for a moment.
“People sign contracts with desperation moving their hands, stupidity veiling their eyes or blatant greed clouding their judgement. Once a deal is closed, regret won’t declare it void again. Does failure to fulfil said contract make a lost soul? Or would only a lost soul sign up to repugnant conditions?” He paused. “I am a man of the law. Covenants are my duty. And so are their signees. Not all of them are lost souls, but I’ve seen enough in my line of work to know one.”
He leaned over to pluck a blossom from a thorny bush with no tell tale sign of pain. “Enough about me. I do tend to bore people speaking the language of law.” Absently grinding the petals between his thumb and middle finger, his gaze fixed the Doll once again: “Just know that though you got lost does not mean you cannot be found. Are you looking for being found? Perhaps by your… creator?”
If people signed contracts with Berith, then he sounded much like Yharnam’s blood ministers and hunters. What was that the Good Hunter had told her had been said to them by he who had overseen their Contract?
Good. All signed and sealed. Now let's begin the transfusion. Oh, don't you worry. Whatever happens... You may think it all a mere bad dream...
She recalled the recounted dialogue in her mind’s ears, which was followed by what they had described to her as a queer cackle. Then had come that Beast rising out of the Blood, a hallucination they guessed, only, its claws reaching out for them, it had seemed so real. It had seemed too real. And the fire that immolated it suddenly, that, too, had seemed too real, as had the embrace of myriad Messengers crawling upon and embracing them, transporting them to the Dream for the first time to meet her-- still seemingly a Doll, and not yet animated due to their noted lack of Insight. They knew not the world’s secrets yet at that time.
Was he something of the sort, one who made binding agreements? It would not be quite the same as a Hunter’s duty, but perhaps it was somewhat similar. The Doll lacked other comparisons with which to draw towards this gentleman. (Yes, to her, he was thus far a gentle man as well.)
The Doll stared at the flower he held in his hands. It had thorns. Should he not have been bleeding? There were few thorned plants in the Dream, but she knew of them, and of what caused humans pain. But this man, he was not human, was he? He was something else, something arcane. What? Had he told her? Ah, she could not recall.
“Gehrman...” she murmured, pressing her tightly-clasped hands to her chest, and chin to them. “He does not desire to see me again. He cannot find me if he does not seek me, nor desire me,” she reasoned. What was this in her eyes, clouding her vision, making it distort? Tears? And why did her voice sound strange when she spoke? Was this grief? Despair? “... I do not know what it is that I look for. I desire to be wanted, dear Berith.”

Gascoigne looked exhausted. One needn't see his eyes to be able to discern it. Nightmares plagued his restless sleep. He must not have slept a wink in days, he reckoned. It certainly didn't help her was slowly but surely coming to the realization they weren't nightmares: they were memories. They were memories of how the blood entralled him, how he found Viola slaughtered by those vermin, the townsfolk, the mob, and oh, how he'd enjoyed cutting them to little pieces. But it didn't bring Viola back. And it didn't curb his addiction, either. Eventually he crossed paths with a new hunter, and had to be put down like a biting dog.
And that was not to so much as mention the changes to his body. Yes, he swore, during the fight, he swore something changed, the Beast, he hadn't been able to hold it back anymore, and his whole body morphed into a roaring, slobbering, mindless abomination. His hands and feet became claws, his clothes torn, his teeth fangs, his body hairy.
But not here. He'd woken up here. In this weird place. The girl had, of course, attempted to explain it to him, the negative side. He wasn't dead. Just in some living hell. And he knew his dreams were memories because his clothes were still torn up and bloody. He had no weapons. His cap was gone. His shoes were gone. His upper body attire was ripped and barely wearable. And that was to say nothing of the intolerable stench of beasts clinging to it.
"What do you want?!" he grumbled. He could smell her coming again, of course he could. "Have you any news of how I can return to my daughters, or am I trapped here forever, eh?"
