Vampire: Which of the Seven Deadly Sins relates to your muse?
Envy. Annabelle is envious of people that can provide more for their children. She is saddened that Iris is growing up in a single parent home. While she tries her best, she still wishes that she could do more and yerns for things that she knows that she cannot provide for her daughter.

Mermaid: How does your muse connect to water?
Annabelle has become a muse that rolls with the punches a bit though originally I had thought of her as a bit more in control and controlling when I was developing her. She flows through life sort of like water. There are hick-ups and obstacles, but she always works around it. In a more literal sense, she grew up in Washington where she had plenty of creeks and streams that she enjoyed. The very lush forests with small creeks make her feel at home and happy.
Hydra: Does your muse have a reoccurring problem?
She is not sure if she should put herself out there. Whether it is friendships or relationships, Annabelle is cautious because she knows that whoever is in her life is in Iris’ too. Annabelle does not want to develop any sort of relationship with someone that would eventually hurt her daugther.
Kraken: What haunts your muse?
The fact that Iris will never get to meet her father. Leo had a big hand in bringing Iris to live and was Belle’s world for the longest time... The fact that he was gone before Iris could even remember him haunts her.

“Ah.” Some of those rang a bell at least. “I’ve always been partial to Wonder Woman… what with her place as a historical warrior and all.” Diomedes had killed Amazons on the beaches of Troy, but that was a story saved for another afternoon- another cup of freshly ground coffee. He traced the rim of his small, china cup; the lingering heat did wonders for his skin. He so often felt cold.
The innocence behind the inquiry reminds him as to the company he now keeps. Of course Annabelle was a perfectly doting mother, for her no other realm of possibility existed. And while what memories remained of his mother were mostly fond ones, a long life throughout the ancient and new world had made it so he had encountered parents less than… amicable.
“I suppose I’m just… always surprised when a person actually puts another person’s needs above their own.” Be it parents, siblings, friends or lovers- “Not everyone is capable of living and loving selflessly; a giving love is hard to come by.” But as for the main event; he adjusted his tie. “I like to think so. I’m investing into the building; giving it a new wing as well as a more… polished classics section.”
“My daughter as a pretty active imagination and so her love of heroes seems to change with each day. She seemed to be partial to them all at some point.” Annabelle chuckled softly. “I’m assuming you are a history buff?” The redhead asked gently. She had no clue that he was actually a vampire. While with a light knowledge of the supernatural world, there were no signs and Leo had never devled that deep for her to be aware of what to look for.
Her eyebrows furrowed for a brief moment as he talked about being surprised. “I don’t see why a mother putting her child’s needs before her own would surprise you. It is all a part of the duty that it means to be a mother, especially with one so young.” She shook her head. “Living and loving selflessly was what I signed up for the moment I got pregnant with her because however I live or love will affect her and how she grows up.”
A smile grew on her lips. “That is good to hear. I have always loved the classics. I am sure that the owner will be thrilled.” It was funny in all her years that she had never met her boss. Not to mention, when people asked they were rather vague. Though, Annabelle was sure as an investor that Diomedes could potentially know more.

Belle inherited her grandparents home? That sounded nice until she mentioned - oh -. Oh. Atlas felt his face fall, though it was not intentional. Loss could be unbearable, when his grandmother had passed away he didn’t think anything could be so heavy. But to lose someone you were intended to have a life with? A future, a destiny. The oracle knew all too well how fickle fate could be, how mutable it could all be. Sometimes people died with little rhyme or reason, other times, it was all that waited for them.
“Belle I’m so sorry.” Atlas said immediately, his features soft as she spoke of a man named Leo, the father of her child and the person that the witch assumed Belle was meant to share all this with. Corinth was a beautiful place, that she’d ended up here, alone, was tragic. He wasn’t going to ask for details because that seemed incredibly rude, it was Belle who had taught him a thing or two about social skills once upon a time. “Are you… Okay? It’s good to see you again.”
“He died trying to save others, so I suppose that he died a hero.” She felt the lump in her throat coming back. He was a hunter. He was a Morgan. She couldn’t have stopped him even if she wanted to. However, she did know that she could protect her daughter at all costs. The decision on when to tell Iris about magic and the supernatural was going to be a hard one... It was one that would lead to talking about her father. Annabelle didn’t even fully understand what made a Morgan hunter different than that of a normal human, but she hoped that it was not more than she could manage.
When he asked if she was okay, she shook her head. However, she still told him, “I am alright.” Was the lie for him or for herself? “I have to be. I have her.” She added as she looked down at her daughter that still didn’t fully understand their conversation. In time, she would. Annabelle would never hide Leo from her daughter and she’d be as truthful as she could. “It is good to see you too. How long have you been here?”

“Nothing to be sorry about,” Henry reassured her with a gentle smile. “She’s not a bad woman, and she wasn’t a bad mom. Not always, at least. We just ended up having our differences.” And now he hadn’t spoken to her in almost ten years. For Annabelle, he hoped things would never go down that route for her and her daughter. “Are you kidding me? You’re intending to go out more because of me? I’m so flattered.”
“I see. I can understand differences forming... Especially, when you are getting older. I don’t want to think about that possibility with Iris though.” She sighed softly. Annabelle hoped that even if they disagreed that they would work past it. “Not exactly what I meant.” The redhead chuckled softly. “I meant that my luck might inspire me.”

“That’s just one of the many reasons why I could never do what you do.” Maybe Elias’ thoughts on the matter would change in five years, or ten, or fifteen, but right now he knew he was too much of a mess to ever be someone who could make difficult choices for others. He could hardly make them for himself after all. At her answer, his face turned a little more pale. “Oh – I’m sorry.” The last thing he had intended to do was bring up hurtful memories, after all. “That’s… yeah. That means you’re doing an even more amazing job though.”
“Don’t say never. You truly don’t know. And I mean that in a don’t say that you could never do what I do. I understand people not wanting to have kids and would never shame anyone for it... I hope that makes sense?” She shook her head. “No need to be sorry. He passed away right before I moved here... So, I’ve had a bit of adjusting and she is a piece of him that will continue to make the world brighter.” Annabelle replied gently. “I am just doing the best I can with what I have.”

In his quest for knowledge, Lykaon has collected a great number of books and tomes over the centuries. His library houses most of them, available to the public for their perusal. But there are some that are unfit for public display, a potential danger if fallen into the wrong hands. He pursues them all the same, even if they might speak of a magic he can never touch with his own two hands. They’re kept off the main floor, in a private wing dedicated solely to their preservation and protection (though the truly dangerous ones remain at his home estate). Lykaon is in that wing now, attention focused on a new acquirement when he suddenly gets the sense that he isn’t alone anymore. Maybe it’s the fact that he’s been alive for so long that he’s fine tuned to notice the presence of another, or maybe it’s just a gut feeling, but it’s there all the same and it’s rarely wrong. “This room is restricted access, for employees only.” His voice rings out loudly, an underlying warning. He’d have to up the security system again.
Annabelle had worked at the library for about four years now and had never seen the man that was standing before her. She was making sure to take count of one of the private wings, as was one of her duties. There was always a curiousity in her that wanted to read the books that were off limits to the others, but she minded her business. Annabelle couldn’t afford to lose her job, especially as a single mother. “I know because I work here, but I cannot say the same for you.” The redhead replied. “Unless you just started working here recently, I would probably say that you should leave the restricted area of the library please before I have to call security.”

It was… nice. That was an appropriate way of putting it. For a long while, he had been only accustomed to the avarice and warmongering excess that trickled through human generations. Something that had never seemed to wane, however, was a mother’s affection for their child (except in those horrifyingly rare cases that made him aware his skin still had goose bumps)- but Annabelle was nowhere near as savage as a story on Dateline.
“IronBatSpiderWoman,” he repeated, his mouth working hard to manifest the syllables- that to him, clearly didn’t belong together. In his youth, heroes had been great warriors throughout Greece or Macedonia. A bat, that transformed into a spider, with the face of a woman, encased in iron? Sounded terrible. Whatever it was, it must have been the exact opposite of what he was thinking. Or at least he hoped.
“I think it’s nice you encourage her in all that she does,” he managed sincerely. Even if it did mean paying tribute to some horrible creature. And as for himself- “I cannot complain.” Untrue, but nonetheless. “But I do have some news to share about the library that I hope is of interest to you.”
“Yep. Ironman, Batman, Spiderman, and Wonderwoman. All four combined to make a complex and tragic hero that she seems to desire to be.” The mother couldn’t help other than to giggle. The superhero thing was certainly not a phase. At least, that was officially what Belle has decided seeing as the superhero love that her daughter had only seemed to grow more and more each day. She didn’t mind though. There was no harm in loving heroes.
Her head tilted slightly and her soft red hair feel along with the motion. “Why would I not?” She asked gently. Of course, she would encourage her daughter. It was her job as a mother to encourage Iris where she could and help the young girl to grow into the best woman that she could be. Of course, along the way she will have to teach her and that too came with the role of being her mother.
“I am glad that you are doing well then.” She offered a sweet smile that eventually shifted into a look of curiousity. “News about the library?” Her eyebrows furrowed a bit. “What’s going on? I hope it’s good.” Belle really didn’t want to have to try and find another job... She sometimes lived from paycheck as it was.

“It’s not at all about being perfect though. Trying your hardest is the most important part.” His parents had always tried their hardest too after all, and while Elias was still certain he was a disappointment to them, it mattered more than most other things. “No, probably not. The other life comes first. Is her father still in the picture or…?” He asked carefully, unsure whether that was too much to ask.
“Yeah... But as a parent, every little mistake seems amplified times ten. I want to make sure I do absolutely right by her and sometimes that means making difficult choices.” She sighed softly. The young woman ran her fingers through her hair and then she heard the question that she got asked often... People even just asked it with their eyes. “No. He died when she was one year old.” Her throat tightened a bit, but it didn’t hurt as much as it used to.

“I’m not sure kind is the word I would use for her.” Maybe she had been kind in certain aspects, but only until Henry turned out to not want to follow her rules any longer. “Of course it is hard, but it’s still brave, too. It takes quite a bit to decide to leave the house on your own. But I’m great company, so you got lucky.”
“Oh. I am sorry about that then.” Annabelle quickly apologized. She knew that not all families were as supportive as hers had been... Her parents being especially supportive in the situation she had been in. “You’re right. I did get pretty lucky.” The redhead laughed softly. “Might even inspire me to get out a bit more.”

“This is probably my favorite time of year,” the genasi stated as she grabbed for her extra shot latte, looking out at each booth dazzled up with rainbows and various pride flags. The afternoon was starting to bring in much of the heat, but a cool breeze from the bay allowed for a bit of refreshment as shops continued to pop up before the main event started. Daphne liked to get there early to watch as people filed in and owners got prepared for the long night ahead, excitement buzzing all around them. She felt much of the same electricity, taking a long sip from her drink, hair bouncing lightly as she stepped onto the sidewalk to begin her stroll. Bits of her rainbow glitter caught the light as she eyed different booths, grinning wildly before seeing the start of a photo booth being assembled, “Look!” Brilliant blues turning back to the person next to her, “We have to get our picture taken, no doubt about it. Oh wow, the props are amazing!”

“This is my first time.” Iris told the brunette and Annabelle shook her head. Still, the five year old’s eyes were sparkling like little stars as her daughter looked around at all the colorfully dressed people. Not to mention that there was the promise of games, food, and face painting!! It was hard for Iris to keep her attention on just one thing when there were so many things surrounding her and her mother, but now there was another person talking to her. “OOO! I want the tiara!” Iris clapped happily immediately agreeing to a photo op.
“Baby girl, remember we came last year and the year before that, as well as the year before that. You just don’t remember it quite.” Annabelle said and her daughter quickly made an oh yeah face. Her attention then turning to the brunette that was talking to her and Iris. “Are you sure that you want us crashing your photo booth?” The redhead teased lightly though there was some truth to that. She was sure that the woman was an adult and wanting to have more adult fun than walk around with a mother and her daughter.

“Guess working through the festival has its perks,” which explained the fire station t-shirt that August currently wore instead of plain everyday clothes. He had agreed to work some of the hours through the festival, offering aid to those that needed it, and ensuring that nothing dangerous happened under his watch. It also meant that he was to remain sober, so he’d opted to try out some of the foods during his current break. Which also explained the plate of a dessert in his hands, seemingly too much for the poor paper dish. “They gave me way too much for being one of the volunteers, so please, help me out and take some of it.”
The five year old’s eyes lit up as she heard the man offering a plate of desserts and then deep brown eyes looked up to her mother expectingly as she began to give that puppy dog gaze. Annabelle laughed softly and shook her head. Though before she could say anything Iris told August, “Thank you, sir!! Thank you! Thank you!”
Annabelle was proud of her daughter minding her manners, but she held her daughter’s hand first. “One. You get one dessert off that pile the nice man is offering you. Just one. We can’t have you ruining your dinner.” Her attention then turned to August. “This is really kind of you, you know? You just might have become her favorite person.” The redhead teased.

“No, not really,” he confessed. But he couldn’t deny that little instance of concern didn’t amuse him. “Maybe three minutes. But that little glint in your eye- that little sweat- sort of made it worth it.” The young woman was desperate to please, to belong- poor lamb. He wished this had been the way Aegialia had lamented his departure to Troy the ten years they were separated. Perhaps she had in the beginning, until Aphrodite had seen to corrupt her. The goddess preyed on weak women.
But Annabelle didn’t appear weak. In fact, she seemed more assured now than when she had first arrived. Loss was difficult; the loss of a lover was like losing a half to a whole. He could sympathize, even all these years later. Even so, devastation didn’t detract Annabelle from her goals- from her duties. That’s why he respected her.
“How is your beloved?” Iris. Whenever he saw her, he found her akin to a peace- small, fragile innocent. It had taken him a long time to be comfortable around young children after the loss of his own.
She was thankful when he told her that she had not had him waiting too long. It would have been rude of her, right? “Well, I am glad that it only had to be a glint than genuine concern.” Annabelle chuckled softly. “Though, I remember in school that three minutes could seem like forever when you have to give a presentation or something.” The human joked not relaizing that her schooling and Diomedes were most likely vastly different. Was is wrong that she still assumed most people she met were human? Leo had not quite broke that to her just yet.
“She is just about as good as any now five year old can be.” Annabelle admitted. “Her birthday was last month, so we had a superheor themed birthday party. IronBatSpiderWoman is her favorite at this point because she changes everyday.” There was a sparkle in her jade colored eyes as she talked about her daughter.
The bright smile remained on her lips as she asked him, “And how are you doing?” She figured a question for a question was only fair.

Belle’s daughter’s name caught him a little by surprise, he’d also known an Iris, but he was not about to draw the comparison here. A look of momentary confusion crossed his face, before he drew his features back into an easy and bright smile. He hadn’t expected Belle to show up here in Corinth, especially with a kid, heck, Atlas and her had been kids not too long ago, hadn’t they? Though, the witch knew as well as any that a lot could change over a matter of a few short years.
“It’s nice to meet you Iris,” Atlas said, he’d taken a knee outside of the stroller as he looked at the thick mess of dark curls atop the infant’s head. Clearly a trait she’d picked up from her father who was… missing? The witch wasn’t going to comment, he assumed that the other half of whomever Belle was parenting with was off somewhere. The thought that tragedy had struck his friend hadn’t crossed his mind yet.
“I can’t believe you’re here, though, you were always talking about Corinth. Kind of inspired me I guess.” Atlas mused, there had been a time when she’d only seen him as human, he wondered if that was still the same. She certainly felt human.
"Man.” was what the little girl responded with and she had a bright smile on her lips as she pointed at Atlas. Her deep brown eyes that she had also gotten from her father were sparkling with happiness as she looked up at the man. Annabelle’s eyes were on her daughter and then slowly glanced back up to Atlas. She was proud that her daughter could talk as little as she could, it was still a good start and it made her feel a bit warm inside. She wished... She wished Leo had been able to see it. He had barely gotten to hear her first words.
The sadness had trickled into her jade eyes for a moment when hearing Atlas broke that thought and she smiled at his musing. “Corinth had always been in my heart, so when I inherited my grandparent’s home... Leo and I had wanted to some here.” The redhead bit her lip as she felt her eyes begin to sting.
“Sadly. He died before we made it...” Belle told Atlas. She didn’t know how she was going to explain his death to Atlas because to explain his death would be to explain the existance of hunters and the supernatural world.

What is your muses favourite scent?
Annabelle’s favorite scent would have to be somewhere between vanilla and the smell of old books.
What is your muses favourite kind of weather?
Sunny and like a nice 70 degrees outside. It is the perfect weather to be able to spend time outside with her daughter.
How far has your muse travelled away from their home?
It would probably be from the USA to Greece. While her Grandparents did live here, she was not originally from here. So she would travel from Washington state all the way to Corinth as a child, which admittedly is a pretty long flight.

Annabelle’s constant in her life has been her love of reading and books. Whenever there has been trouble, stories have always been there to take her out of it.
