max retreated back to their table, moving carefully so as to not spill the cups of coffee in his hand. “jesus,” he shook his head in disbelief as he sat down. “the guy in front of me ordered, like, ten shots of espresso and asked if they could serve it in one cup.” he looked at the other, his eyes filled with bewilderment, as if expecting them to be as concerned as he was. “is he going to be okay? i mean, i’ve never both feared and respected someone before like this. is this what college does to people?”
“Wow. What a hero. Maybe we should buy him an extra shot for luck.” Belle quipped, reaching for the extra cup of much needed caffeine in Max’s hand. She delicately wrapped both hands around the warm mug, sipping the scalding liquid and wincing at the way she burned her tongue- her lack of patience very much evident. “As for his well being...” She leaned around him to take a look at the man in question, her injured tongue pushing into her cheek. “To be determined but yes that is exactly what college does to people. The joy of Ivy league.”
