Tiger sharks are a species of requiem sharks and are the only extant species of the genus Galeocerdo 😌 They’re found in tropical and temperate waters, like the ocean surrounding the Hawaiian Archipelago!

I seriously have dreams where I run into these guys in the water, they definitely stand as the #1 species I want to have an encounter with.

Saying goodbye to my original humpback whale design! 🐋

For some reason, I can’t seem to get this design to print without it adding little tiny pink dots as bleed around it 🤔 (regardless of how many times I re-upload the original design from Procreate.)

It has however been replaced by my new momma & baby humpback design, which is cuter anyways 😉

I have so many misprints of this design that it’s going to be my main b-level freebie for the next batch of orders! So if you place an order anytime soon, you can expect an extra of this guy in there.

Late post for world whale day the other day!

It’s humpback season here in Hawaii which means they migrate here from colder waters to give birth to their young and mate.

Here’s my original design that started in my shop, the Reef Triggerfish!

The reef triggerfish is actually Hawai’i’s official state fish 🐠 They can reach up to 10 inches in length and are readily found on coral reefs across the Hawaiian archipelago.

Green sea turtles are always spectacular to run into while diving here in Hawai’i!

They are the only species in the genus Chelonia and live on average 60-70 years. Their diet is unique in the fact that they start out eating invertebrates such as crabs, jellyfish, and sponges, and as adults, they switch to eating seagrasses and algae 🌱.

Boxfish are so cute in the water I can hardly stand it 🙈 They’re one of my favorites to see! Naturally, I made a sticker out of one. Available through the link in my bio for $3.25 :)

Yellow boxfish can be found in various types of reefs throughout the Pacific, Indian, and Southeastern Atlantic oceans.

They reach a tiny maximum size of 45 centimeters, however, I’ve never seen one that large before!

Learning about Ctenophores today 🙈 Did you know that ctenophores (comb jellies) are not true jelly fish? They do not possess the same stinging cells as true jellies, and spend their whole lives as planktonic organisms.

Posting in honor of swimming with the Galapagos & sand bar sharks on the North Shore today with @oneoceandiving 🥰 @oneoceanconservation

Numbers estimate that around 100 million sharks are killed every year. Last year, there were only 57 confirmed unprovoked attacks by sharks on humans, with a very small amount ending in fatality. Clearly, we are the ones to be afraid of! If you take into account the vast amounts of swimmers, divers, and surfers who enter our oceans daily, you can easily conclude that we are not targeted as shark’s prey. The sharks in our oceans have much more to offer alive than they do on our plates or for posting in fishing photos. 😌
