‘You worry too much for someone who Allah has never failed.’
Pepper reminds me a lot of Bella, sometimes I accidentally call her Bella. She sits on my foot the same way Bella used to, and her antics are also very similar Subhanallah. Grateful for my time with Bella and now with Pikachu & Pepper alhumdulilah. May Allah protect all of our loved ones, ameen.
“Every word has consequences. Every silence, too.”
— Jean-Paul Sartre
Bakr ibn ‘Abdullāh al-Muzanī (رحمه الله) said:
رَحِمَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا رَزَقَهُ اللَّهُ قُوَّةً فَأَعْمَلَ لِنَفْسِهِ فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ، أَوْ قَصَرَ بِهِ ضَعْفٌ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْ فِي مَعَاصِي اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ
“May Allah have mercy on a servant whom Allah has blessed with strength, so he uses it in obedience to Allah; or if weakness prevents him from doing much, he does not use it in disobedience to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.”
Al-Zuhd by Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (1833)
"Every time I feel anxious, I remind myself that every good thing I have in my life came after I decided to be brave."
If you wait until you feel better to start living, you might be waiting forever. Go live your life. Do it sad. Do it anxious. Do it uncertain. Because healing doesn't always come before the experience. Sometimes, the experience is what heals you.
One of the best life lessons my mother taught me is that your character should not change based on who is in front of you. Be kind even if they’re not, be truthful even if they lie, be positive even if they’re being negative. Stay good, whatever they do is on them, they should not influence a negative change in you in a moment of interaction.
What a privilege it is to return to God again and again
I witnessed Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah — may God sanctify his soul — whenever a matter became difficult for him, he would flee from it to repentance, seeking forgiveness, seeking God’s aid, turning to Him in supplication, asking Him for guidance, and seeking an opening from the treasuries of His mercy.
Then, before long, divine assistance would begin to pour upon him, and the openings and inspirations from God would come to him from where he had not expected.
There is no doubt that whoever is granted this sense of need and poverty before God — in knowledge, in spiritual state, and in the movement of his heart toward its true purpose — has been given a great share of divine success (tawfīq). Out of His mercy, God grants him the path and companionship that help him realize this need and strive to attain the truth.
Thus, He sets him upon the straight path. This is by God’s grace; He grants it to whom He wills, and God is Possessor of immense bounty.
-Iʿlām al-Muwaqqiʿīn by Imam Ibn Qayyim.
Surah Al-Qamar [54:10]
If Allah were to uncover for His servant the wisdom behind trials, his heart would melt in love for Allah because he would see that every hardship was chosen for him, not against him.
Ibn al-Qayyim | Madarij as-salikin (2/215)
