Bellatrix nodded at his thanks, as simple as she expected it to be. Benjy Fenwick was not a man who considered himself above anyone, he kept his head down and did his job. This attitude was a motivator for any employer to raise him up to the highest of positions within his divison, which was partially one of the reasons Bellatrix had been watching him as of late. He had much potential for ferreting her information, if she played her cards well. Which Bellatrix planned to pull off flawlessly.Â
âOh, of course. Silly me. You did say that. Well, all the more reason to enjoy a lunch, on me. I insist. After all, we do work together. It would be only fair.â She shook her head in the negative when he asked if she minded the walk. Of course she hadnât. Apparating left little time to learn about someone. A walk was a perfect time for observation. âNot at all. I should have expected youâd want to stretch your legs.â She offered him a smile as she pushed open the doors to the lobby, winding her way easily through the crowd. âIf you donât mind me asking, what has kept you from it for so long? It is just down the way, after all.âÂ

Benjy inclined his head, thinking that the woman he was with seemed incredibly polite. It was rare that he spent many times with purebloods from older families â the majority of them did not even realize he was a pureblood himself though he kept that secret close to his chest. âI appreciate that,â he said with a soft smile on his face, still unsure of what exactly Mrs. Lestrange wanted. He appreciated that she wanted to walk, for Benjy liked stretching his legs. He spent too much time behind a desk and after work he spent too much time helping others than taking the time to focus on what he needed.
âThank you,â he said as they walked through the doors to the lobby, out into the rest of London. âI tend to eat at my desk most days,â he admitted, finding her question curious. âItâs more efficient and I try to get as many things done as I can.â He smiled in response. âThe work wonât do itself, will it?â he asked, somewhat rhetorically. It seemed a nice day out and he appreciated the way the sun came down on his skin. âDo you get out for lunch often?â he asked, trying to make conversation.
