There are just disastrous days...

that tear you apart from the outside inward. There are horrible weeks that leave you on your knees choking back your tears as you wonder why things have to happen the way they do. There are months that seem to bombard you with an endless hellstorm of bad news on top of bad breaks on top of shitty days and rough weeks. Then there are off years that are the ultimate culmination of tumultuous months filled with dreadful weeks composed of the daily heartbreaks that never seem to cease, only morph into something new as you furiously attempt claw your way out from underneath the weight of your own self-inflicted burdens. A persons positivity and resolve can only last so long before the feelings of futility creep into the forefront of your mind, escaping the cages and traps that had been set to stop them. The vermin of doubt scampers silently and daftly through the tripwires labeled "Things will get better, you just have to ride this out" and "Don't give up, it'll change. Just you wait." until it springs forth from the dark corner of your mind that you're too scared to venture into because you don't want to entertain the thought that maybe this is just what life has prepared for you. Maybe there are just people meant to suffer so that there can be balance in the world. Is that what happens to the good hearts? Not everyone can be happy. Not everyone can get what they want. Just one break would be nice. Just an escape from the ceaseless disappointment and letdown.
