“That’s.. completely understandable, actually. Being apart from family can be really difficult.” Which she could relate to. Right now, Gabriella didn’t have anyone but two friends from back home. She was completely alone and separated from her family and though they all differed from her, they still meant the world to Gabriella. There were few people who made her feel safe and comfortable and they were those people. So, she could relate to what he was saying and understand the difficulties of leaving those you love, behind. Once he then he offered a new and quick insight to who he was, Gabriella let out a small chuckle. It was sweet of him to do so, honestly. “Well, Levi Berne, it’s a true pleasure to meet you. But you dislike meteors? Really?” She then questioned with a smile. “Why don’t you like them? I can understand everything else, but shooting stars? Those are supposed to be lucky things you wish on.” Granted, she did have a keen love for space. “I’ll have to show you then. Once I have something somewhat ready, I’ll play for you.” It was an attempt at being nice, and though she usually followed through with her promises, she couldn’t help the part of her that was absolutely terrified of letting anyone hear her work. “Anyway, uh, yeah I mean, it’s not so bad. Kind of cold, but it’s a beautiful city. Especially if you’re into art.” Which she appreciated. “Uh..” The blonde then let out a small hmph as he tried to explain himself regarding the whole situation nights prior. In her eyes, he managed to help out, but apparently, he didn’t see it that way. “Well, uh, I mean… I think in a sense you uh, kind of did. But we don’t have to call it that if you don’t want to.” She shrugged, scratching her neck just a bit. Luckily, they had finally made it to the school, however, so her attention was able to avert elsewhere. But, without paying attention, Gabriella looked back and him and began to step forward; failing to see anything in front of her. “Yup, see… told you I could get you here.”
Was was turning out to be a good day after all. The sun was out, it was only partly cloudy. Not too cold, not too hot. The humidity was low and his nose wasn’t stuffed. And he was making a friend, possibly. The thought made Levi smile before he snapped back to what was happening in live action. He listened to her response, and he gave a smirk. She was alone as well, two foreign people in a country that wasn’t much like home with people who didn’t understand their accents and never invited them over for pool or whatever young adults did. “Well, the thing about meteors is that every once in a while there’s a big one that misses earth by miles. And one day it might not miss earth and that’s goodbye to everyone. And I don’t know about you but I rather enjoy my family and burgers.” He was waiting for the green walking man on the sign to let them pass to the other sidewalk and he nodded as Gigi agreed to show him some of what she’d been working on. That was when she took a step forward. It all happened so fast. The car swerving towards the blonde and Levi reaching forward, grasping unto her arm and pulling her back to him. “...Are you okay?” He said after a pause, finally taking a breath. Just a second delay and she would have been smashed on the front window of that car.
