“maybe you just haven’t found the right toy! do you like video games jiisan? sports? dinosaurs? there’s all kinds of toys!” which meant there had to be something for the other individual. maybe he just pretending to not like them? there were some kids who did that in school after all. just in case, he’s going to set down a yo-yo next to him. “reading is nice too. but you can’t read forever! you have to do other things too!”

“huuuh?” he doesn’t pull away at first, standing in place, expressing his confusion at her words. “buth everywhon starths off asth stranghers at fihurst!”  eventually he reached for her hands, carefully prying them away from his face and holding them in his own. “if you’re worried about me, don’t be! i’ll be okay!”

He stands back up, placing Kazui on his shoulder. Not on Yachiru’s shoulder, of course, that’s a reserved spot. Kazui can have the other one though. It’s still just as high off the ground as the reserved spot.

“even if you couldn’t catch me i would’ve landed on my feet! but still, i knew you were gonna be able to, because you’re really strong!” he saw that firsthand since their last encounter. being perched on the other’s shoulder, kazui’s smile grows in size-- peeking from behind kenpachi’s shoulder to the distance in front of them. “the what? i just came cuz i wanted to see you again!”
