I watched the first episode of witch hat atelier yesterday since it was free on youtube and OMG IT'S NOT OVERRATED AT ALL I love it so much I binged it straight away

The worldbuilding and writing is so good I kept smiling even at not very happy moments because wdym every character is actually fleshed out and well thought and you just get them and they give some profound life lessons and thoughts??? It makes me so happy. It reminds me of high school (fin. Lukio) and of the time we studied for the final exams (fin. Ylioppilaskokeet). I made many of the same realizations as the characters have.

I also see room for growth for them (this is also great). Like if you grow up fast, you are going to end up trying to reconnect with your childhood as an adult. And if you only rely on your own thoughts and ideas, you do get original results but you might be holding yourself back. In the Finnish exams, where you write an essay on a given theme and reference at least two of the available texts (can be anything between articles and classical paintings) you first brainstorm the topic yourself for like 10 minutes, then look at the texts that you need to include in your text, and then try to come up with a more limited topic that you specifically can say something about. So basically you should first come up with a solution yourself, but after that you should check out what other people thought of. Human knowledge is built upon iself, expanding what's already there.

peruskoulu ja lukio: tiettyjen oppiaineiden ja kurssien oppitunnit on aina samassa luokassa. luokkien infrastruktuuri ja välineistö on räätälöity spesifin aineen erityistarpeisiin ja vaatimuksiin.

yliopisto: kurssin x luento oli viime viikolla siivouskopissa, tällä viikolla vessassa. kurssilla on 43 osallistujaa? tough shit, saatte salin jossa on 11 istumapaikkaa. samaan tilaan on buukattu ristiin oikeuslääketieteen seminaari ja varhaiskasvatuksen luento. puolet luennosta kuluu siihen että äänentoisto saadaan toimimaan. projektori räjähtää kesken powerpoint-esityksen. homeitiöillä on ikuinen opinto-oikeus.

yliopisto jKr (jälkeen Koronan): pakolliset kurssit x ja y on suoritettava lähiopintoina (sis. 3 x neljän hengen keskustelutuokiota aulassa ja yksi 2 min luentosaliesitelmä 60 ihmiselle, joita et ole nähnyt etkä tule toiste näkemään). loput opintopisteistä käydään verkkokurssina toisen yliopiston ja Perä-Letkun ammattilukion järjestämissä livestreameissa, joihin sinulla ei ole tarvittavaa PeLe-ohjelmistosalasanaa. saat sen löytötavaratoimistosta (purkutuomion saanut ainejärjestötalo, tämän viikon tiistaihin klo 10:15 mennessä.) luentosalien sisustus on “muunneltavuuden” nimissä konvertoitu yksipyöräisiksi satulatuoleiksi, joista osassa on mukiteline. arkistossa ei ole vakituista työntekijää eikä vierailuaikoja. kirjaston työntekijät on korvattu tiedonhakuportaalilla, joka korvataan tekoälyllä, jonka hallitus aikoo työn valmistuttua leikata pois. olet oppiaineesi viimeinen vuosikurssi ikinä ja viimeinen lehtori eläköityi juuri, joten et enää tule saamaan ohjausta opinnäytetöihin.

Ok so im really enjoying learning finnish, its all very slow steps forward but thats fine, kinda comes with being dyslectic. Though, I have, unfortually, found a word i absolute hate.

Oh! I didn't intent for it to imply that she might be trans lol so for me it's she/her, the soap bottle is pink but I toned it down because it was too attention grabbing when it's just there to fill space and it's slightly blue because of the atmosphere, though I suppose I should have made it more green instead like the rest of the room? Here's what it looked like at one point in the process:

But I think it's really interesting how a lot of art can be interpreted in multiple ways that the creator could have never even thought of and I don't think it's wrong to take it as mari possibly discovering that she's trans.

I do like playing with the idea of Marinette doing more masculine stuff (cutting hair, motorcycling) and Adrien doing more feminine stuff (grows his hair, is used to makeup and styling because of modeling) but I personally don't headcanon either of them being trans.
