stop saying you care about consent if you keep sharing stolen content, if you’re too lazy to educate yourself you don’t belong in nsfw spaces
Pretty new to nsfw tumblr here, would appreciate guidance. What exactly counts as stolen content? Is it specifically pretending to be someone, or does reblogging something without a source count? What if there's a watermark in a gif? Is it different if it's from an independent creator or a company?
I tried asking someone irl and they said it only counts as stealing if you make money off of it, but I have the feeling that people here have a stricter definition. Someone else said it's any copying without explicit permission, but then you wouldn't be allowed to reblog anything without written notice and that doesn't seem in the spirit of tumblr.
hi! i would love to answer your questions ♡ stolen content is anything that was shared not directly by the person or people in said content, without their knowledge and without credits. even if you can see a watermark it could’ve still been stolen and posted without creator’s consent. it doesn’t make any difference if it was stolen from an independent creator or a company because what you’re sharing is still people’s bodies without their consent. reblogging stolen content from someone else is just as bad as stealing it yourself, it’s never okay to share something unless you know who it belongs to and if they gave consent to having it shared. unfortunately most of people on here either don’t care or are unaware and choose to stay uneducated on the subject - that’s why it’s so important to speak about it and tell people when they share stolen content, keep sharing educational posts about how to recognise it and not tolerate people putting it on your dash.
