A month ago I made a post talking about a possibility for Pete at the end of Ghosts… and I’m still kind of in shock that it actually happened. Even with all the hints throughout the season, watching Pete disappear still hit exactly the same. I honestly don’t think it would’ve hurt any less even if I had never thought about that theory before. I really wish I had been wrong about this 😭
guys! i was talking to @bertieandherboyscout and @nisaachearts and we came up with a very real possibility of a crossover between Ghosts CBS and Ghosts BBC in the near future
*just a bit of context* whenever we start theorizing, we make sure to look up the episode titles (partly because English isn't our first language, and we don't want to miss any hidden references). So when we searched for 'Across the Pond', and it said: “this idiom means 'on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean', and is used to refer to the US or the UK depending on the speaker's location.” (link)
we were like “hold up a second—”, and just like that, we started digging for more evidence to back this up. Here's what we found:
according to IMDb, the episode 'Across the Pond' will feature a British actor: Dominic Burgess playing a character named 'Winston.'
in an interview, Devan teased the finale with “Intercontinental”... and then “Castle?”
Ben's shirt: a page that's already seen the episode posted some spoiler images with no context, and this was one of them. Coincidence...?
this medieval armor that Pete comes across that seems pretty consistent with the armor used in 16th century Europe (or something like that, we're not history experts, so don't take our word for it lol)
and now, some behind-the-scenes details that make this theory even more interesting…
a photo of Asher with Jim, taken on April 10th (almost two months after the Ghosts BBC movie confirmation)
a recent interview where Asher himself said he wanted a crossover with Ghosts BBC...
now let's connect everything to the possible plot we're looking at
season 5 is definitely ending on a cliffhanger as Asher (ofc it had to be him) mentioned right here. And maybe (just maybe), the cliffhanger he's referring to involves Pete not making it back to Woodstone... because he found Button House instead
the ghosts BBC movie is called “Ghosts: The Possession of Button House”, and since possession is something new to the BBC Ghosts universe, who better to explain how it works than someone who's already watched it happen a *few* times? (aka our boy pete)
and on top of that, the movie premieres on October 23, 2026 (right around Halloween, which is also when Ghosts CBS will return for a Halloween special)
so while the Woodstone ghosts are worried about Pete's return... he might just be hanging out with Pat and Julian instead (that would be incredible like i can’t evennn)
pete might not be directly part of the movie's plot, but that doesn't mean he couldn't contribute in some way…even just a mention of him being there would be amazing and honestly, it would bring us one step closer to an actual, aired crossover between the two shows
okay, there might be a few holes in this, like how long Pete could realistically stay away from the mansion; plus, we don't have the BBC movie synopsis yet, and the Ghosts CBS finale episodes haven't aired, so we can't 100% confirm or rule anything out… *but* hey, theorizing is part of being a fan, so what do you all think?
Alberta haynes!! i kept seeing art of her and had to draw something myself
Oh, my God. I scared him away. I'm such an idiot. Damn it, Alberta. This is what you get for being vulnerable.
1 year since Pete and Alberta finally kissed 👻🎙️❤️🏹 👻
Such a sweet little victory after four seasons. Still makes me smile every time. Long live Palberta.
Maybe I’m overthinking this a little, but I started wondering about something that could happen to Pete Martino at the end of season 5 of Ghosts. This idea came to me after I read the synopsis for the finale and also saw a few recent interviews with Richie Moriarty. On their own those things don’t really seem to say much, but when I start putting everything together… it’s hard not to think about certain possibilities.
In different interviews, Richie mentioned some pretty interesting things about the end of the season. In one he said Pete would do something very out of character. In another he said Pete is going to take a big risk. And in another he mentioned that he’s curious to see how the cliffhanger will be resolved next season. On top of that, I also saw an article saying the finale will probably leave fans coming up with theories. So it definitely feels like something important happens there.
At the same time, the season itself brought up two very specific moments involving Pete. There was that road trip with Sam where, during a moment of frustration while Pete kept talking nonstop trying to cheer things up, Sam ended up saying she sometimes wished he would just disappear. She immediately realized what she said, apologized, and in the end they managed to get help and make it back to Woodstone in time.
Later on there’s also a moment where Thorfinn brings up the time Pete crossed oceans to help him. If the fandom remembers, that was actually the moment Pete came the closest to disappearing completely because he was away from the property for too long.
So when I put those two reminders from the season together with what Richie said in those interviews (Pete doing something out of character, taking a big risk, and the finale ending on a cliffhanger), I can’t help but think about one possibility. Maybe while trying to help save Woodstone, Pete ends up going too far… and the episode leaves it implied that he might have fallen into oblivion because he couldn’t make it back to the mansion in time.
That said, I really hope I’m wrong about this, but at the same time I just can’t get this idea out of my head after those comments from Richie.
And now I keep thinking about one more thing: if something like that actually happens… how is my baby girl Alberta going to react to it?

I love them so much
And don't worry, I won't go to st. lucia again. or stockholm. or banff. or denver. Sorry. I went on a bit of a tear when I first discovered I could roam. This was way before we were together, It's just kind of like, everywhere I go, I'm the new ghost. And you know how that is.
synchronicity ❤️
"Beauty and the Pete." this is so cute.
They're just two theatre kids who happen to be ghosts, enjoying the afterlife together like the adorable couple they are. I love watching that.

Thank you very much.
"THOR: So, Alberta, you excited for upcoming wedding?
SAM: Aw, Alberta and Pete are getting married? That's sweet.
ALBERTA: Yeah. I mean, I get to sing, which will be a nice little treat for everybody. Although I'm maybe a little surprised they're finally going through with it.
SAM:Oh.So it's not Pete and Alberta?"

This was either a joke or a warning. I choose to believe it was a warning because this feels like the kind of joke that becomes important later. Or ruins me. Either way, future me is not going to be okay.
