Din Djarin: A Summary (season one version)
GAME OF THRONES 4.01 - “Two Swords”
lord don’t let me break this, let me hold it lightly, give me arms to pray with instead of ones that hold too tightly.
↳ Din holding Grogu and Grogu holding him back
thunderousprince:
❝ you’re only saying that because you lost. ❞ he glances down at the child , gesturing towards the man.
❝ what— what is he doing? does he crawl about often? or only after he loses in battle? ❞
the child offered up no tangible response. ❝ strange. ❞ gaze wanders to where the silver helmet lay discarded on its side , half submerged in the loose sand. despite being hit by stormbreakers honed & deadly edge , there was nary a mark to show for it. thunderer retrieves it , turning it over in his large , worn hands. forearm is rubbed across the front to clear away grains of sand as he admires the craftsmanship , the beauty in its curves , the precise angles. the material is one unknown to him , certainly nothing he has seen before in his travels throughout his known nine realms.
brows tick upwards, amused as the thought enters his mind. thor turns on his heel , glance stolen at the other as he continues his relentless search across the barren & slowly rolling dunes. it almost seemed as if the man was hiding his face from thor & the mysterious green child. ❝ strange. ❞ thunder repeats aloud to himself as he lifts the helmet , placing it down upon his own head. the child babbles incoherently nearby & thor looks around , attempting to get a feel for the strangers helmet & its eye slits —— ❝ how do you see in this thing? ❞ thor calls out , ❝ its no wonder you’re so easy to best. ❞
Din has held the helmet for years. Since his days as a foundling he perfected the look and design of it as it was now. It was never to be without it’s Mandalorian, that was the belief - a belief he held and followed so closely. Now that a foreigner had put it on the mandalorian felt his heart sink to his chest. Grogu with a curious gaze looked onto the face of the man he knew more to be than his protector. “ What are you doing? “ came the question in his usual gruff tone, only less resoundingly louder without his helmet. His brown eyes narrowed on the other with his property. “ Take that off! Now. “ As quickly as he stood his pacing to close the space between the two of them. “ That is for mandalorians to wear only and you, you are not fit to wear it! Nor should you have taken it from where it was - “ His heart paced quickly now as he began to think how he could salvage this moment of disgrace on his clan. None wore the helmet again after being exposed, how was he meant to live without it now? The child cooed somewhere to the side. Din turned face to look at his child, brown eyes showing a look of sympathy before flashing forward in anger to Thor.
BREAKING one time thor took his eye out to clean and grogu ate it :)

how is this man so adorable?? HOW????
Everyday I wake up and I ask myself this question
The galaxy’s most feared and dangerous hunter gone at the hands of some figure who had some power that even he was unaware that some being could hold. Jedi or not he was now in possession of the child. As the ground below became clearer Din could only close his eyes and hope the death would be quick enough as he made his impact. It never came.
“ OOMPH “ The mandalorian was suddenly jerked by the collar, his limbs outstretched in front of him; hand grabbing at the air and feet floating above the spot he was supposed to be flattened against. Turning his gaze upward he grimaces at the fact that his attacker was now saving him. And likely seen his face.
Once on the ground he gathers himself, discarding his pistol as he turns away from his young companion and thor. Din shakes his head, eyes searching the ground for his helmet. “ Where. . . ? “ he curses under his breath, “ This wasn’t some competition with a winner and loser. you didn’t win anything. ” panic rises in his chest as he begins to hear the mantra spoken by the armorer, “ Have you ever removed your helmet, has it ever been removed by others?, “ his thoughts raced at the idea of never being apart of the tribe ( that was disbanded ). Grogu now seeing din’s dark curls for the first time peered his head over the carrier past the thunder god. Curious to get his first look at what and who his father was.
Din himbo Djarin knowing nothing about Star Wars
What do you know of the Jedi? Nothing.

The Mandalorian 1x04: SANCTUARY

/ @thunderousprince
Most of the time his odds were against him even then some of the enemies were as big as Thor, twice as big as Din. The way the shot ricocheted off the armor -- he didn’t have time to look twice to see if the armor was beskar, or if the man before him was Mandalorian himself. He couldn’t be, he didn’t have the markings or wear the helmet. There were no significant markings of a mandalore on him.
Squaring his stance Din stretches his arm out with his pistol in front of him, taking aim for the head ; he’s had enough. But suddenly the power in his visor is overwhelmed with energy that blinds Din temporarily but long enough to have him blindsided by the swift hit to the side that feels like he’s been hit by the underside of a mudhorn’s horn. With his footing compromised and vision dependent on his eyes alone which is rather difficult through a sliver of view that’s hard to depict thor’s quick movements. With an arm clenching his side, a glove hand clutches the hilt of the pistol he’s managed to hold onto. There’s still a few tricks up his sleeve.
“ I love to break a winning streak, “ he quips back before seeing his power returning to his visor, make that one more trick. Din sends a command to his jetpack to take him airborne. Once in the air he extends out his right fist and uses his flamethrower. A roar of orange flame is directed to the god of thunder. From the carrier, the child raises his chin with his jaw opening as he witnesses his father figure continue to fight against this foreign figure that they’ve come across. He didn’t look to harm him there was no sign that he was looking to harm him but his actions to Din unsettled the foundling.
A final orange cloud of fire moves through the air toward thor and just when din sees his opportunity to use his pistol a glint of metal is seen, moving closer to him. “ No w-- “ CLANK! With the electricity and fire electrifying the weapon, not to mention the sheer strength of the god who threw the axe made contact with the mandalorian in the sky.
It’s like nothing that he’s ever been hit with before but it doesn’t kill him or break the beskar. Din yells as he’s thrown back, freefalling almost as all power ceases in his armor. His screams echo through his helmet before it flies off, the power in his jetpack suspended so there’s no saving grace from it as he comes back down toward the sand dunes below.
Below Grogu watches as the axe is thrown at Din. It connects, sending the human soaring backwards through the sky. As he witnesses the axe being called back to the male in front of him, the child uses the force. something calls out to him. Thor is a threat. Three small digits on his hand extend out, eyes focusing on the object coming back down to earth before closing them as he stops the axe in the air. The other’s unhappy tone doesn’t startle him or deter him from continuing his force ability. Anger radiates near him he knows the god is closer than before. Ears twitch as he hears Din’s yelling that breaks off his concentration thus dropping the axe. The metallic sound of the weapon cutting through the arid air as it falls to the ground with a thud.
“ hm “ The child hums sadly as his large eyes dart from din to thor standing next to his cradle. His ability is strong but it’s only temporary, weakening the small alien species he feels his energy depleting from his body. This is seen from the disheartened look in his eyes, small chin tucking into the collar of his oversized coat, and the large ears on either side of his head twitch downward. Sleep. It calls to him from the lethargic perception.
