i know i’m like three years late but i love the bad blood bts video
I’ve always loved writing story songs, and using tales of other people as a way into making music and talking about my experiences in life. Over the last few years, I’ve been working on a whole load of songs about people who I think are fascinating, and whose lives really spoke to me. I wrote these songs at my kitchen table, so they needed to sound homemade, and intimate, and warm. For me, it’s been the most brilliant, fun, and chilled process, while also trying to do justice to the lives and stories of these amazing people. And now, I’m really excited to start sharing it with you.
BASTILLE PRESENTS: & (Ampersand) – released October 25th, 2024
Eyes by Bastille
I don't know how to talk about this
i have written your boyfriend down, by the way. now he will live forever. and all the world will read him. yeah, sorry, he will live forever. in eyes not yet created and on tongues that are not born and all that.
September 9, 2016: Bastille’s second album, was released.
Our personal favorite ❤️ Love this masterpiece so much (and keep thinking it deserves even more recognition that it already has 🥹).
Happy 7 years to the beauty that is “Wild World”!! 🥳🎊
Pompeii by Bastille is ten years old this year. It’s hard to imagine. So much has changed since then, both in music and the world at large.
…
But if you close your eyes,
Can’t believe it’s been five years of Wild World. Probably one of the best album of all time and I’m not taking criticism on that.
This is your friendly reminder to go and watch Bastille's ReOrchestrated at Elbphilharmonie again
This just blows me away every single time
what still fucks me up is that there’s still no Bastille song that’s completely happy. Sure, Admit Defeat and Club 57 are upbeat and about love, but there’s still a tinge of sadness to them, as if the narrator has doubts about an actual relationship forming. The Silence and Flaws are self deprecating and upbeat, but there’s nothing that explicitly suggests that the narrator is speaking to a love interest, it could just be platonic. And don’t get me started on all of the songs about relationships falling apart or the lover beinf unobtainable. There’s something that’s so melancholic about Bastille’s music- even in the happiest of songs, there’s still a nagging doubt or a sad musical note that doesn’t let the listener be in a complete state of romantic euphoria. It’s tragically and beautifully depressing
Ok fair point, I forgot about Shut Off The Lights.
But it still doesn’t strike me as a love song? There’s no mention of love at all and he refers to the other person as a “friend”
Sleepsong // Bastille
Give Me The Future (album, not the song) can be summarised as 'the world's fucked, and Dan wants to be too - preferably by an android.'
Bastille really put their whole basbussy into "Stay Awake?"
