"Tell me, Tseng." Rufus' tone was formal, gaze stoic, "It's of utmost importance you be as concise as you can." He leaned forward with both hands on the desk and gave the Turk a long gaze, until a smile crept up his lips a moment later. "How do you take your coffee?"
Tseng turned his head slightly, his attention seemingly staying on the surroundings. From the corner of his eye he could see the amused smile on the boy’s face. With a small, barely noticeable, huff of air he answered, “Bitter. Was that concise enough for you, sir?”
Tseng raised a brow but followed his boss out of the room. As they were walking he wondered if, perhaps, he should subtly suggest that the blond finish his work tomorrow.
Already he could easily see the toll it was taking and the last time he’d worked himself into unconsciousness the president hadn’t been too happy that his son had fallen asleep on the job.
Tseng let a out a barely audible sigh and focused back on his charge. Time to do the hard part of his job…
Rufus’ steps were short and quick, hoping to work off the energy of his over- caffeinated self. He ignored Tseng’s concerned gaze as they reached the kitchenette - all chrome and black countertops, and very briefly considered decaff…. Now I know I’m losing it, Rufus thought. “Black, no sugar, no cream, right?” Rufus said, and smiled a little at Tseng - hoping he wasn’t going to start lecturing him. But, judging from Tseng’s eternally watchful gaze - it was unlikely….
Tseng only hummed, his black eyes staring unnervingly. Or well, that's what he was told his stare was like. And it seemed to be having an effect as the young Shinra was starting to fidget.
"May I remind you, sir, that the last time you tried to work like this the president was not happy with the result. Perhaps you should take at least a few hours rest before starting again? "
Hopefully this worked because he really didn't want to resort to.... drastic measures. Like bodily picking him up and locking him in his room. He hasn't had to do anything like that yet. Though it would be interesting to try and carry him around covertly.
Hm. Perhaps he should try that for training with some other Turks. Oh... perhaps he should take that coffee to keep his mind focused.

To be honest, it had reached a stage where Rufus felt so damn tired, that he didn’t care if he was acting strange in front of the Turk. He had been dealing with this Odin-damned fucking project since 6am, and it was now running into 9pm. Or was it ten? Rufus neither knew or cared anymore. Tseng had joined him from 5pm onwards, as was the roster-cycle for a Turk to escort Rufus where ever he was meant to go. “I’ll go make your concisely bitter coffee, so.” he said, stretching, “I need a break.” And possibly my seventh cup today.
“Very well, sir. Perhaps you would prefer to take a break somewhere outside the building?” Tseng turned his full attention onto the stretching heir, noticing the strange way he was acting. Perhaps, he had been working too long? If so, it was better to get him away from the employees that would… chatter about his behavior.
Rufus felt tempted. Very tempted, actually. But, no. His perfectionist nature screamed for him to remain in his office and make absolutely sure the project was better then expected. Rufus’ arms fell to his sides, and his shoulder cracked slightly, “No, I’m fine - thank you. I’ll go make us coffee!” As he turned, a grimace crossed his face - bit too enthusiastic there….. Maybe some air might do my head some good.
