loveeee characters who think they're likable but not lovable. characters who know they have surface-level admirable or alluring traits and so make sure to highlight those traits so that nobody looks closer to see what's underneath. characters who know they're hot or clever or cool and use that as a suit of armor so that no one ever gets close to them, because when they strip bare and show their vulnerability they're not any of those things, which means they have nothing left to make up for who they inherently are

Lucas, too

I don't think it's intentional, but it *is* remarkably frequent. Lucas tilting his head to look is probably the closest thing to making it canon. Did you know that head tilting can sometimes be compensation for poor vision resulting from lazy eye or nearsightedness? Maybe other eye problems, too. I've been thinking of making it canon to my fanfictions, but idk how to include it appropriately.

Doctor Vargas does a vaguely similar thing here, but it could be confrontational in nature because he keeps furrowing his eyebrows repeatedly.

Also, Lucas *does* have freckles in the first game! I made a poll about it a while back, which had inconclusive results. Looking at the footage I have, it's almost unmistakable due to how the light reacts to the skin. It's either freckles or pitting. Same with the Doctor. I'll need to record the above scene with different video settings to get the best picture. I've been passively wanting to make a reference or even a map of Lucas's freckles if possible.

The Doctor tends to cross his eyes, while Lucas tends to have exotropia. But not always. A lot of characters tend to have one eye pointed at their nose and the other eye pointed forward.

A remarkable counter-example with Ryder, I thought it was interesting how his peepers were laser-focused on Morgack the whole time. The only point in this scene where he looked odd is when he seemed to look at his nose, but he was thinking and not looking at anything in particular.

Viktor seems to perpetually squint, which idk why. Trying to make him look evil, maybe? But really, he just looks like he has trouble seeing lol.
