ARG Results

So yesterday I had placed out a voting about the direction my ARG, Animated Archives, and the people have spoken;

The ARG will be rewritten and reformatted to a more comic style and not as dependent on player involvement as before.

This doesn't mean that players won't be able to change or effect the story, but it not be so dependent that nothing happens for months on end lol

What this means is that in the meantime I am going to private the blog while I do housekeeping/get things set up. The comicfury page will also be hidden so that way I can do housekeeping over there as well.

I want to thank you all so much for voting and helping out; as updates come up, I will certainly show them off. For now, I'm off to deal with the IRL shenanigans and the metaphorical plot bunny.

Another fake screenshot for my personal project ( an adaptation of A Thousand and One Nights). This time it’s a scene between Aladdin and the jinn from the ring that his (fake) uncle gave him. Wanted to figure out how jinn would look in the world while also trying to nail down a style for backgrounds. Also some jinn designs and thumbnails for Sinbad the sailor’s misadventures.

just saw a 'comments' tab on someones blog you know where the following and likes tabs would be if enabled and it was just showing all the replies theyve made on peoples posts. this is fascinating when did this feature come out

EMERGENCY - ITS AUTO ENABLED!

if you've made replies on posts there is now a tab on your blog showing every post youve replied to and your reply.

if this is not what you want, either go to your blog and click comments and disable it from there or just go to your individual blogs setting pages. just change it from blue to grey if you dont want everyone to see your replies AND the post you're replying to

PLEASE BE ADVISED that it is set to disabled for blogs that have not made any replies but it will turn ON if you reply with that blog in the future.! i just tested it with my main, which was greyed out but it turned on the moment i left a test reply

figured i'd get the word out bc i have not seen a single mention of this and i'm sure there are plenty of people who maybe comment on things they don't want on display for everyone to see on their blog lol. you can still look at your replies with it toggled off just no one else can, like locking the following and likes list

so for some reason this feature was actually announced on the tumblr engineering blog. interesting choice not to reblog it to the staff or tumblr blog, esp considering they asked for user input on how to implement it, but i suppose considering the response to the last update maybe the replies would be too overwhelming...

so couple of clarifications. comments are disabled as default for primary blogs that have their likes disabled. they are seemingly enabled for all other blogs that have replied to posts

posts you comment on may show on your followers 'for you' page if you leave your replies publically available. they may, in the future, show in on your followers dashboard if your follower goes to their dash settings and enables this. apparently, if your likes are enabled, your followers can already see those on the dash if they've gone into preferences and selected to do so, which I was unaware of, and that seems to be disabled at default, but it's possible i disabled it previously and forgot about it ig

Are you doing ArtFight this year?

Nope.

And it's not because of the clunkily worded rules they recently introduced, though that is not helping.

One of the last attacks I had recieved last year was a clear violation of the rules (barely a sketch, and said the finished attack would be on another site at a later time, and my character not even in it) and despite reporting it the day of, I didn't recieve any indication they even glanced at it, even after months. I get that it's volunteer based and the scope of the site does mean they won't get to issues in a super timely manner, but that rubbed me a very wrong way, especially since there was no indication that if it was a larger issue it would be handled either.

I also left because it turns out that you couldn't delete previous attacks (at least from what I was able to find) so I would be forced to look at the art I did for who I thought was a mutual and turns out instead used Gen A.I. and continued to lie about it when they got caught and called out about it. Which ya know not fantastic for the mental health department.

So left the site and deleted my account but it's fine, I will surprise friends, mutual, and random strangers with art regardless of when and where. And if you're doing it, then I hope you have yourself a grand old time!
