So, I made this thing. I saw it at the window of a Paper Source one day and thought I will make this beautiful green marvel wreath and it shall be my rite of spring and I shall have it on my door and it will be glorious! Then I got home and realized it was going to take me a gazillion hours to cut out all these flowers and curl them and arrange them. Which it most certainly did. But now that it's all done and pretty, I'm glad I pulled through!

Asparagus Alfredo Linguine
I was looking through the asparagus recipes reblogged earlier and thought I would do a quick asparagus pasta for lunch one day. This was my first time making an Alfredo sauce from scratch so that was an achievement in and of itself. I was surprised at how simple it was! I used the recipe linked below as sort of a guideline but I used two egg yolks, milk instead of cream and less butter. I also added some basil pesto.

We had a little get-together for Easter brunch at our home. I bought some croissants and fruit tarts from a new bakery in the neighborhood, assembled an avocado grapefruit salad, served some berries, a mango lemonade and some french press. For the main dish, I made a strata lorraine, mentioned earlier, and everyone loved it! It was the first quiche-type dish I've ever made, so I was very happy it turned out nicely. I substituted ham with pancetta and the batard with half soft baguette and half regular.
