If your reaction to OnlyFans banning NSFW content is to say, "but isn't that why it was created in the first place?!" I need you to do me a favor and go read up on the history of Patreon and what it did to SWers.

My Patreon account has never been for sex work (I used OF for that), but it is still permanently locked behind an 18+ only verification and completely hidden from Patreon search results to this day because I used the word "orgasm" in a single short story that isn't even available to read anymore. It wasn't even in the context of an erotic scene, but it sure did slam my Patreon with that mandatory 18+ that keeps people from being able to find my Patreon without a direct link.

Perpetuating this kind of shame around the sex industry is THE ONLY reason it's such a fertile money tree for human traffickers. If sex work was treated like every other profession, it would be full of people who WANT to be sex workers. If there's no shame in it, it's safe and accessible, and it's something you want to do, why wouldn't you? Stop shaming sex workers. Stop acting like the sex industry is somehow morally any different to paying a couple of buff dudes to use their bodies to move your furniture because you don't have the muscles for it. A mother and her son were killed by their policeman neighbor. Over fucking fireworks.

The policeman, Jonel Montales Nuezca, shot Sonya Gregorio and her son Frank Gregorio. Nuezca’s daughter was there, and even shouted at the two that her father was a policeman and said that he could kill them. He did, right in front of his daughter. And she didn’t bat an eye. It was filmed, and went viral on Facebook, and since then PNP has been calling it an “isolated case”.
