Chocolate keto with caffeine this morning at the craft fair. :)
Every week. Another 1/2lb heavier. No matter what. :(
At last years check up, my BMI was officially over 30. (5ft 3 3/4 inches, 175lbs is 30.3BMI Congratulations to me, I’ve reached obesity.
I wanted to scream ‘I TOLD you SO!’ I’d been fighting this battle for years! But instead I just listened to her.
She suggested 2 options, one was a MLM program that another hospital employee had been using successfully to lose weight. The other, well-she wouldn’t prescribe it, but she would give me the name of a Dr who would. It was.... phentermine. At the time the Multi-level marketing program that her college was on came in at about $120 a month! Phentermine? $20 prescription from walmart. So I went to the other Dr, who I happened to have seen before, and loved, but she’s very busy so it’s difficult to get in to see her on short notice.
But I eventually saw her, explained my struggles. Told her of the many many things I had tried to lose weight. Showed her my latest food diary for the past month and then told her how I consistently gained weight by 1/2 lb a week no matter what. She was able to confirm this by looking at my last weigh in, it was almost exactly 1/2lb a week. She agreed, phentermine had side effects, but was worth a shot. She also warned me that it was a controlled substance and would show up on a drug test.
Guess what! It worked! For about a month....then I stopped losing, but wasn’t gaining. I was happy to just not be gaining, but I also wasn’t sleeping much so it was time to admit defeat once again.
**How about some small print.
I cannot diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. If you have questions I suggest you see your dr (like I did). :)
This is my breakfast but, thanks to keto os, I'll STILL lose weight today! :)
July 15th, blog #4 I DID IT! I believe in it & so I signed up as a Keto OS Promoter!
I have lots more to share about the sucky struggles I’ve been through the past 7 years but I know that, at the end of the day, most people just want the ANSWER, not the details. So here it is:
The thing that finally FINALLY worked for me was Ketone OS by Pruvit. Within an hour of drinking the ketones they are in your system and your body is using them for fuel(instead of glucose). I know this to be true because I tested it! I’ve paid too much money for too many different things-I HAVE to see proof, and this was easy to test via ketone test strips.
I honestly felt better! If any of the other multiple things I tried made me feel so good so fast I would have blasted facebook with messages about it.....alas there were none. As mentioned in my previous blog, I DO still use some of the other techniques and supplements (love my fitbit for example) but this is different.
If you want to try a sample let me know. I started with a 5 day pack myself($30 inc shipping). It was a LOT of money for me to spend on a trial, but someone I trusted was already having amazing results so I was willing. I do hope you trust me enough to try it yourself!
If you aren’t bothered about samples and want to just jump right in and get started go to www.bpiggott.purvitnow.com and start shopping! Be sure to get in touch with me first because there always seems to be a coupon code or special floating around. Beta Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) also known as ketone salts, is NOT cheap to make. We aren’t talking about raspberry ketones from Walmart here! That’s totally different. BUT this is worth it! If you’ve struggled like I have, it really is worth it.
Yep, tried that!
A quick list of the things I did or tried in an attempt to lose weight:
Weight watchers
Master cleanse
Apps including:
plank challenge
abs trainer
CK25
Nike Trainer
myrunkeeper
myfitnesspal
CalorieCounter
Advocare
Modere M3
Plexus
Garcinia Cambogia
Green Tea
fitbit
and many more that I can’t even remember.....none of these helped me lose weight. I LIKE many of them and still use some for general good health, but they didn’t help me lose.
Yes, Dr., I know I’m not fat YET but I’m an aerobics instructor on a diet & can’t lose weight!
So I go to the dr for something and while I’m there mention that I’m having trouble losing weight. I explain that I watch and track what I eat with weightwatchers and I exercise about 5 -6 hrs a week at a medium to high intensity(so in other words not counting things like going on walks, but serious ‘break a sweat, heart rate at 160′ working out.
Her answer? Oh I must be working out too much. Just have more rest days and it should start falling off.
Work out less?! Don’t have to tell me twice! Dr’s orders! But guess what....it didn’t help. It didn’t really hurt-my gaining was still slow and steady.
Follow up appointment(and a few pounds heavier, but still in a health BMI range) she says to see a nutritionist, I must not be eating right or eating more than I think. ha ha. I was literally measuring & counting every point! Every bite of every food was counted(and then worked off). I could tell you exactly what i was eating, the calories, the portion size, the points and how long it’d take me to work off. But I was getting frustrated so agreed to see the nutritionist.....who promptly looked at my food diary and said, apart from drinking more water and eating more protein(I don’t like meat) I was doing everything right. Gee, thanks lady.
A year later I’m back at the drs for my check up, and about 7lbs heavier. By this time I’ve tried a few other things to help me lose weight. Some worked very short term(like the ‘Master Cleanse Lemonade Diet, where you live on water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper for 10 HORRIBLE DAYS). But the instant I had a bite of actual food the weight was coming back.
‘Well that’s your problem! You’re dieting too much! You need to just eat whatever you want and make sure to work out 3-5 times a week. (GAH!) So back to 5 hrs of exercise a week but at least I don't have to watch what I eat! I can just stop stressing about it and just try to be healthy. Sounds like a good idea! I’m just over thinking it.
10 lbs later I booked an appointment with the dr specifically about this bloody weight! I could tell she still wasn’t worried, but she was at least starting to listen. She ordered blood tests. Over about a year I had the following tests (and a few I’ve probably forgotten about:
CBC, Vit D, Iron(ferritin), B12 Free T4, TSH Lab Thyroid Autoaby Profile and ((KICK ME WHILE I’M DOWN))..... Estradiol because ‘Hey, you’re not getting any younger and you COULD be menopausal. (I was 31.....)
Iron and vit D were low. All other results came back normal.....well crap. Still no answers.
By the way, I was NOT menopausal! :p
Once upon a time Beth was thin. AKA When it all went to chit.
It’s true! Although, like so many women, I didn’t think I was thin at the time.
At 5ft 3.75 inches (yes, the ¾ of an inch DOES matter!) I was happy at 135lbs, I was ok at 140lbs and anything more than that required action!
Those were the days! I could just decide it was time to lose weight, and do it! I was already working as a fitness instructor, so usually it was just a case of eating better. Weightwatchers was a godsend. Count calories(points), work out to earn extra points, lose 3lbs a week. Easy!….until it wasn’t.
In 2009 my hubby, son and I moved to the USA. As expected-I gained a little weight in the first year. American food, with it’s GMO’s, artificial colors, flavors and high fructose corn syrup in EVERYTHING, took it’s toll on my health This time though, I couldn’t shift the weight. Even while dieting i couldn’t actually STOP the weight gain. Every week I was either the same weight, despite my efforts, or heavier! It turns out ‘‘calories in vs calories out ISN’T the only factor when losing weight…It was time to see a dr. ?
