one of my favorite things is when you can change someone’s views about reptiles. like i absolutely love seeing the change in their eyes and the visible relaxation once they realize reptiles are incredible creatures each with their own personalities and individual quirks.

Hey all of you beautiful followers!

I just wanted to make a small post about something I feel strongly about. I see a lot of people with cages like the one above (I have a similar cage) and often the wire balconies/platforms are left uncovered. This is uncomfortable on your rattie’s feet and can cause them to injure their feet and toes walking on it. Imagine how your feet would feel if you had to walk on wire bars spaced apart like that! Not so great, I don’t think :(

They can be covered with many things, such as: 

* Cardboard (can be changed when dirty)

* Tiles (easy to clean)

* Linoleum sheets (these are easy to clean too!)

* Fabric wrapped around the platform (easy to wash!)

* Non toxic plastic sheeting

* Sheet metal that does not have any sharp or rough edges (can also be easily wiped down)

* Newspaper folded over the platform/cardboard (great if your family gets the newspaper daily and it won’t go to waste after reading it :3)

I hope that no one feels like this post is aimed at them as it is not. I just wanted to let you know that there are plenty of things that you can use to help save your fluffbutts feet! :3

I am... so annoyed. I ordered two butterfly telescopes from CoastGemUsa this past weekend. Everything was squared away on Saturday. I was communicating with them through their Instagram account, and on Sunday, they asked for my e-mail so that they could forward me the tracking number for the fish and said they’d ship them overnight on Tuesday.  Tuesday came and went and I hadn’t received a tracking number and whoever operates their Instagram account didn’t answer any of my messages asking to confirm that the fish were shipped as planned. I tried messaging CoastGem’s Facebook account and calling their business telephone several times, but got nothing. I finally e-mailed them this morning and they answered, stating that my fish were not shipped because the person who manages their Instagram has been out sick and neglected to tell anyone that they made a sale.  So now they won’t be coming until Friday since I won’t be home tomorrow to receive them. I’m so aggravated. This was all taken care of on SATURDAY and there was plenty of time for the employee to communicate with them that my fish were to be shipped out. I was so excited today, practically waiting by the door. Buh.

Hey guys, I’m still here, but life is crazy and I don’t come on often. I use my personal blog, @betweenlinebreaks, much more. The fish are good!! I will probably be more active once life is less intense.
