Open Starter Pack — After Hours at All Star
All Star Diner is one of those places Redwick never fully turns off: bad coffee, bright windows, cracked vinyl booths, and the elevated train rattling overhead every few minutes. It is late enough that most people inside are either working nights, coming off one, or avoiding wherever they are supposed to be. Cops in one booth. Two nurses at the counter. A man asleep over a plate of fries. Someone’s argument getting quieter near the payphone.
A man has just left the diner, abandoning his coat, half a coffee, and an envelope tucked between the sugar caddy. The waitress has not touched it. The cook keeps looking through the pass window. Nobody wants to be the first person to admit they noticed.
Any muse can be here for normal reasons: food, coffee, meeting someone, coming off work, waiting for a ride, or following someone in.
