Cause I just know that little 13 year old Eddie would’ve been shrieking at the top of his lungs and going after anyone/thing that tried to hurt any of his friends, especially Richie.

Just rewatched It 2017 and realized that the doll of himself that Richie sees has it’s fucking mouth sewn shut. Obviously this is a reference to Richie never shutting up, but that’s very surface-level. It can also definitely be read as him having to keep his sexuality a secret, him having to keep his mouth shut about his feelings. That, paired with the missing poster being a representation of Richie’s fear of being hatecrimed, adds a lot more depth to the scene and his fears overall.
